Wasn't Lowe involved a lot with Hockey Canada when Nicholson was in charge? One can only hope that he puts personal friendship over professional responsibility just like Katz has

Who cares, this is a public relations move. This was the same Bob Nicholson who was in charge of the top to bottom forensic audit and deemed that it wouldn't look at Lowe and Mac-T.

All this is doing is saying to the fans, we got McDavid look at the changes.

his next move will be that he will announce that he'll take the summer to evaluate the organization again, and then the only change he'll make is to recommend that a veteran coach be bought in and Nelson named co-coach.

Mark my words, Katz probably gave him carte Blanche over the oilers organization except for Lowe and Mac-T.

Katz desperately wants both of them to be around and worshiped if McDavid turns the franchise around.

Everyone in the Oilers organization now reports to Nicholson. It's pretty simple.

His press conference right now is quite interesting.

When Lowe and MacTavish are removed then we can finally make that claim. But yeah, seems more real then ever.

For anyone that's watching, can we get a summary of his press conference?

I only caught the last couple minutes but:

- He took his time this year to get a handle with all business operations

- he is now in charge, everyone in the Oilers organization reports to him, and he reports to Katz

- Changes are coming in the next couple weeks

- realizes the fans are not happy

- Will ensure the right people are in the right positions to ensure success

That's about all I caught. then they called up the Assistant GM for a photo op

Yup. That sounds like he's planning to clean house.

Wasn't he supposedly above Lowe before anyway? And to be honest, I don't see him as much better than Kowe anywat. I know people like him becausr of his connection with Team Canada, but Lowe has been with Team Canada forever too. I don't see Bob being able or having the will to fix this mess anyway.

Just the usual rearranging of titles in Edmonton.

No he was in charge of business operations only, both him and Lowe reported to Katz

Sounds like typical press conference fluff. We'll see what he does in the coming weeks.

I agree with the Cap't. He doesn't fire Lowe. Partially because they're buddies, and partially because he's been saying the exact same things up to this point as well.

He's as blind as the rest of them.

Prediction: Lowe stays. MacT, Howson and Nelson are fired and new oiler alumni hired to replace them.

I hope they blame it all on the goalie coach again.

My guess is the whole management team under Bob are fired before the draft.
