How there is no discipline for the hit to the head is beyond me.
*Department of player safety meeting*
"Well, that was clearly a head-shot, what do we do?"
"Let's do nothing"
"..."
"Because its the Cup!"
And they laugh and laugh

A "neutral" observer MJALLTHEWAY on HF:
As a neutral, I am continually flabbergasted by how the canucks can continue to be so damn hateable. It's beyond me. I have no predilections to either team whatsoever (if anything I'd like to like Vancouver more because I enjoy the city itself) so I feel like I'm a suitable impartial judge.
The Bieksa jumping was the worst of all IMHO. You run your mouth at a guy for three games now, talking smack about how - I can only assume - you're going to kick the **** out of him. Then when the time comes to step up, you wait till he's in the corner making a hockey play, drop your gloves, and feed him the most vicious punches you can. Then, when you realize he can finally fight back you retreat as fast as you god damn can hoping for the linesman to split it up. At NO POINT was it ever a fair fight, nor did Bieksa ever intend it to be. He wanted to get his shots in, do some damage and run like a coward so that next game when Ferland wants a fair fight, he can turn it down.
It's embarrassing and if he was on my team I wouldn't defend it, and that's what pisses me off about the Canucks fans in here defending it. We all have losers on our team from time-to-time, I'm a leafs fan, I've had many, just own it. Don't defend Burrows when he's being a ******, don't defend Hamhuis for jumping in, and don't defend Richardson hitting a guy while hes on the ice (after the fight was started amicably to make it worse). THIS IS IN JUST THREE MF'ing GAMES! It's not that hard boys.

i kinda hoped hamhuis would get a game, he's more valuable to the nucks than burrows.
and yeah i think the league will hold up burrows' instigator, he had a cheap shot right beforehand, and beiksa also had what should have been ruled an instigator. if the league hands out no discipline it opens the door to just mug the opponent when the game gets out of hand. That was clearly what the nucks were up to at the end of the game there.
all that being said the more chippy this series gets the further out of it vancouver becomes. so fill your boots you squeebs.

Linden has a lot of Canuck stank to get rid of.

Probably better for the Flames if Bieksa isn't suspended.
The guy has been a pylon this entire series.

If you're going to jump someone like a coward, well its the old saying, you'd better make sure that what you do puts him down for good, because frankly Bieksa took his best shot and Ferland got up. My advice to the Canucks.

For sure. Definitely didn't mean to discount Ferland's tenacity there, but the gif goes to show how Bieksa basically mugged him with 4-5 free shots before Ferland even had a chance to defend himself.
Bieksa can keep yapping out of his ass so long as he knows he's getting taken to school by a 23 year old rookie super-pest.

It's probably been beaten to death in here, but wow, that Hamhuis hit was the definition of a head shot on an unsuspecting player. Definitely suspendable, should have gotten 5. Refs are outright incompetent in this series.
For some reason I don't think the league will suspend any of them though, even though they should.

Bieksa: Nothing to see here.
Hamhuis: 1 game for a dangerous hit to the head. We want to protect our star players because we know what is in our best interests.

Agree. Head hunting is bad m'kay?

I think you could make a case for all 3, and maybe in regular season they might be suspended but in the playoffs, under current circumstances I would bet that none of them will be suspended.

FWIW, the officials called the play appropriately. Bennett was uninjured, but that was a check to the head minor. Whether or not it is right, nobody should have expected a suspension from that.

Hearing Alex Burrows' Game 3 instigator is likely to be rescinded -- making him eligible for Game 4.

Self-Suspension

Well I guess Burrows' is going to have to scrape his face off the glass. Ferland is going to hurt somebody, not that I want someone to be hurt, but it's going to happen.

The NHL is a joke. Headshots, jumping players and 2-on-1 fights are all fair game in this series! Woooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Burrows - no (will be rescinded, although the most likely of the 3 to get suspended)
Bieksa - no (nothing suspension worthy)
Hamhuis - no (didn't seem to me he was targeting head)

Only one word sums it all up: Disgraceful. Both on behalf of the Canucks and the NHL.
All Calgary can do is add it as fuel to the fire. The critical thing here is this might create an even larger "us against the world" mentality, and that's dangerous for opposing teams given the make-up of the Calgary Flames' roster and staff.

A player is going to have to do something pretty extraordinary to get a suspension in this series.
Basically someone is going to have to get hurt quite badly, which I really hope doesn't happen.

Meh.
Hamhuis was the one that I wanted suspended since his was an actual dirty hit.
Bieksa and Burrows were just showing their regular rat selves, but it's the playoffs. Fights happen in the last 5 minutes.
