Man I would give so much to see Grats in that scrum with a remote held up to Sammy's face Which isn't to say I want him skating with the team, but I do miss those.

That was the best, first home playoff game in a long time, that I've ever seen. the Flames treated the Canucks like they were the new kid in the prison.
I hope if the Flames go up 3 games - 1, McGratton gets back in the lineup and plays against Burrows.

Ferland is a god damn monster and I love him.
After Bennett scored and the crowd started to quiet down a bit, they showed him on the bench looking up at the Jumbotron and he got one of the loudest cheers I've heard. No wonder he had some positive comments about the atmosphere!
|
He gave the crowd a little smile and nod when he realized the fans were going crazy.

They should recall Grats along with the youngsters they bring up.
Would be great to have him around the boys and hey, looks like you could use him anyways. Imagine if he'd been on the ice when Burrows hit Johnny, or when Bieksa mugged Ferland.

That was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in any hockey game. The camera must have zoomed in on him 3-4 times and each time they commented how he was asking for a penalty?? Idiot. The replay clearly showed the puck hitting him. Just as bad as a dive IMO.

The only guys on that Vancouver roster who weren't looking over their shoulders were the Sedins, because they are slippery enough to usually get away from the big hits, and Bieksa, because he is too stupid to know any better. Everyone else on the Canucks was crapping their pants.

Oh, and bring a player notorious for his inability to handle adversity into that environment? Do it, Canucks! Do it.

Maybe not over their shoulders, but when they saw Ferland coming they were definitely just dumping the puck away and avoiding him.
I can't wait until he starts scoring goals just to really tick everyone off. Almost had one last night.

Yeah. Biekeska asked for it, good suggestion. Honestly though I think right now Raymond offers a little more then Granlund. Love the guy but we need some vets to step up too.

The receptionist at work is apparently a Canucks fan. She walked by my office this morning and said "Who won the game last night?"
Yeah, she's not really a fan...

Honestly if Sven has been watching this series, last night in particular, he wants no part of it. The Canucks and their fans will realize soon enough what we had to come to terms with and it will hurt, but the guy just isn't cut out for this.

McGrattan and Yonkman should get some seats behind the Canucks bench and just stare :-)

Wow what a game!
In regards to Hughson, I think he called a fair game. That said, I found it comical that he felt RUSSELL should have got the instigater. In fairness, he may have been basing this on the standard set be officials in game 2.
Looks like the top line is waking up. Bad sign for the canucks. In fairness, they have generated 2ppg so far, compared to 1ES goal for the Canucks top line.
Bennett is a beauty! He has boosted that 2nd line. Maybe the biggest reason the Flames are ahead in this series.
Last but not least Michael Ferland! Mr. FERLY. Demolition Man. The Destroyer. The Terminator. This kid is MOST CERTAINLY in the Canucks heads.

The "Where's Your Daddy" chant was in full force in the press level last night. I have never experienced a hockey environment like that. It felt like the fans would go crazy for anything (myself included). Increase the in-attendance record to 4-0-0-1!
Such an amazing game!
