Genuine question.
If you didn't want to things to end the way they did... why didn't the Flames just.. play hockey instead of turning things into a #### show at the end? What Richardson, Hamhuis and Dorsett did was stupid but none of that crap would happened if Ferland and Hartley kept a level head...

Well that's upsetting. Maybe next time.

You don't just die into the night, the altercation was fine, how the refs handled it and what the Canucks players did is what was uncalled for.

Hearts are worn on sleeves all the time. Maybe you don't watch playoff hockey much?

I don't think anyone has said they didn't want the game to end like that.
Flames showed life after a subpar game.
Canucks are gutless, turn the page and bring on game 3.

We can a couple unsung heros. Need some goals! And a D who can step up and play important minutes.

because we sucked?
If he wanted to put out a big, mean line, why would Potter and Stajan be out there?
Ferland a rookie ... I think he may have been giving guys legitimate garbage time.

Of course, I just don't understand the double standard with Ferland. I don't know if the guy has a history of running around like that or if Hartley gave him the hint, but you're kind of asking for trouble running around like that. Not the fun, you push me I push you kind of trouble either...

It's been discussed to death but 2 on 1 for Engelland, cheap shots and an elbow while Stajan is on his ass, and the refs holding back only flames players and escorting Ferland asap. That's all on the refs they saw it and they let it happen and they called it all against the flames. **** em honestly **** em. I'm getting too heated so that's enough for tonight.

Maybe, but it just shows that regardless of what happens in this series the future is promising.
Playoffs in year 2 of a rebuild, clawed our way despite unreal competition and losing some pretty key guys. Getting playoff experience for incredibly young players (imagine what these kids will be in a few more years!) while taking home ice advantage.
One other thing that makes putting up with some homerism in the play by play easy? I just compare it to the Flames playoff play by play in the past few years

I think everyone should put some tweets with the 3rd man in to @nhlplayersafety - that the ref just stood there and let two Canucks gain up on Engelland is bad for the whole league.

It's nights like these that make me proud I'm raising my two kids as Flames fans while living in Vancouver.

We all know Hughson is a Canucks homer, and most people are fine with it and can deal with it, but it should be no surprise how basically everyone reacted to the growing legend comment. It's not a Vancouver regional game, Jim has to reign in his boners.

Vancouver has a history of getting beat up and folding when they get games get physical...... pretty obvious how important of a role Ferland plays here.
see : Marchant punching Sedin in the face again and again and again

When your pushed, you can take it, or push back harder. In my eyes he did exactly what he had to. What would make me happy is knowing that he wanted to. That's the kind of emotion that builds a winner. Old time hockey.
