I'd love it if they started doing this after goals.

Gotta disagree. I think it looked really dumb when Pacioretty did it. Plus I love the way our young guys celebrate goals. No need for the big celebrations here. Let Hallsy and Ebs do the big celly's.

That said, I'm Don Cherry when it comes to goal celebrations... I think they're lame, but I get why some people like them.

That's been a pretty widely accepted term in hockey for awhile

I like the fact that they seem loose at practice.

Ya good to see the boys loose. I agree stick with the traditional ones. I enjoy seeing guys really pumped after a goal but I also enjoy seeing guys calm and stone faced. Kind of gives off the impression that there is still work to do.

What's your point?

I'm all for a good celly in practice or in shinny, even a little fist pump or little jump into the glass, but I don't think there's a need for the big over-the-top theatrics in professional games unless it's warranted, such as late tying goals/winners, OT winners and Stanley Cups. There's a time and place for big celebrations, and after any random goal (like Eberle or Subban do) is not it.

So did you stay quiet and still after each goal in game 1?

Monahan couldn't do it because of the shoulder injury.

No, I was jumping around going nuts when Russell scored, but I'm a fan sitting in my house. Bit of a difference.

When I played I never did any big celebrations. I think some of you are confused, and it's my fault for not wording my posts properly, I'm not saying these guys should be emotionless robots, I just think that sliding to center ice on one knee while scraping the ice or any other huge celebrations look dumb. I just prefer they keep it under control.

When it's clearly a thought out, staged celebration, yes. But when it's pure emotion and a guy goes nuts, love it.

A stick sheath is a huge celebration?

Not huge, but definitely in the "over-the-top theatrics" category in my opinion.

God forbid emotion ever gets tangled with professional sports!

Doesn't make it any less stupid. Personal GMG, but I hate it when people call laptops 'lappy', or shorten Panasonic to 'Panny'. It's lazy.
