I would be more upset if the Oilers get McDavid, but those guys are the simpletons of the NHL and aren't tanking on purpose like the Sabres.
I really started disliking them when Friedman reported on 960 about Pegula calling Bettman and asking not to change the lottery rules for this year but instead start in 2016, and Bettman complied. WTF.

The best part of the lottery/draft being over will be the end of other team's fans whining and complaining about supposed tanking. Blah blah blah, same crap all year long, thread after thread. Just enjoy your playoff spot and let us enjoy our elite prospect, first or second overall. It's the only thing I've had to be genuinely excited about with this team in two years.

I agree. We are judged by the quality of our enemies.
With the Oilers being this hopeless, we're a guy who steps over a passed-out, shoeless drunk lying in a puddle of his own vomit on our way into the tavern and curses him by name. And when our new lady friend asks us who he is, we reply "my greatest Nemesis."

and a 55% chance they will drop from 3rd to 4th.
Based on CORSI getting 1st overall is unsustainable.

I want Columbus to win. Like everyone mentioned, they deserve it.
I would normally want AZ to win but I don't for two reasons.
1. If they win, the Oilers won't get bumped down a spot
2. I want them to draft home grown talent Auston Matthews next year and if they get McDavid, I don't think they will be celler dwellers

It's definitely still interesting even though the Flames are not a part of it. Will be interesting to see where McDavid and Eichel land and even the rest of the top 10 which looks really good. Will also give us a better indication of who might be possible trade partners for the Flames to get into the top 10.

Didn't Buffalo draft Sam Reinhart 2nd overall last year? Seems pretty exciting to me.

If the Sabres get McDavid I promise you it will not be the end of it. It will be something you hear about literally for decades.

If Toronto win the lottery I can see TSN, Toronto media and the fans planning the Stanley Cup parade already for next season.

The Pens were still at the bottom of the league in Crosby's first season (29th overall). I don't think McDavid will be enough to turn around the Coyotes in one year.

Crosby had a good supporting cast and obviously McDavid will need the same. I don't think anyone is foolish enough to think McDavid is all you need including Toronto media.

There are only three players that I hope the Oilers do not select. McDavid, Eichel, and Marner.
All three of those guys is more skilled than any current Oiler. Strome and Hanifin are good, but not at the same level of talent as those three.

6:00 pm start. Oilers' parade/riot start time still TBC, but likely shortly after.
