That rumor was in regards to Abrams being upset about there being too many leaks. Maybe they've just really locked things down now.

To fill in the blanks between 1983’s “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” and December’s “The Force Awakens,” roughly 20 new “Star Wars” novels will hit shelves this fall, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Released by Disney Worldwide Publishing and Lucasfilm Press, the books — geared toward adults, teens and children — will form a new expanded universe. They’re a collaboration between novelists, editors and screenwriters and filmmakers from the Lucasfilm brain trust.

As the books are still in the final writing and editing stages, plot details are scarce and closely guarded. However, a few authors and titles have been revealed: “Moving Target” by Cecil Castellucci, which centers on Princess Leia; “The Weapon of the Jedi” by Jason Fry about Luke Skywalker; “Lost Stars” by Claudia Gray, author of the “Evernight” fantasy series; and Greg Rucka’s “Smuggler’s Run,” which follows Han Solo.

Seriously, unless they hit their new films out of the park, they could potential turn the whole franchise into a joke. They need to pace themselves, and ensure the product is of highest quality. All these standalone films, new books and tv shows might wear out the magic a bit if it's all coming this fast and furious. Good storytelling often takes a lot of time and effort. Just don't want to see it happen to SW.

Miltos Yerolemou, aka Syrio Forel for the Game of Thrones fans, has been cast as an unknown alien in Star Wars VII:

This past weekend saw stars of TV, film and comic books flocking to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for the fourth annual Middle East Film & Comic Con. While many actors at the event were under strict instructions not to reveal anything about their upcoming roles, Miltos Yerolemou did let slip that he will be playing an alien in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

It's technically "Star Wars Celebration" in Anaheim this weekend. "Comic Con" used generically is usually reserved for San Diego, which isn't until July 9-12.
