It was a pretty blatant slash.
Should be suspendable.
Subban is fun to watch but all he does is whine and complain. It blew my mind he was whining about the slash.

This will be the most entertaining series of the first round. I can't wait for Game 2.

Yeah there is no "upper body" injury to hide lol.... it was a slash on the wrist
Also I believe Stone didn't come back, right? Can't see them "faking" that to throw game 1...
Not sure if the NHL can send in their own doctors, but if indeed he does have a broken wrist, suspend PK for the series IMO. What a stupid play.

Eugene "P.I." Melnyk is always on the case.

The Senators' owner, who launched what he called a "forensic" investigation into whether the former Pittsburgh Penguins winger intentionally sliced defenceman Erik Karlsson's Achilles tendon last February, met with the NHL Monday in New York to inform commissioner Gary Bettman, deputy Bill Daly and VP of discipline Brendan Shanahan of the club's findings.
...
"I shouldn't have used the word forensic," Melnyk said in May. "People made fun of that word. They started this whole thing: CSI Ottawa because I used one stupid word ... but it was no joke.
"I will present my findings to the league and then they can decide what they want to do with it."

Apparently Stone's got some ligament damage too. What a fantastic dive. He's really committed to this.

No chance that slash should get suspended.
Wasn't overly vicious, that happens plenty of times every playoffs, guy just happened to get hurt.

I'm not expert, but I can't find anything on google about a wrist "microfracture". You can get a microfracture injury through repetitive trauma, but this was a (alleged) single impact injury.
There is also something called "microfracture surgery" which is to repair cartilage.
I'm going to speculate that they can't say it's a "fracture" because it's not; instead, they've come up with the term "microfracture" to suggest "its small, but may take our guy out for the next game or more, but don't be surprised when he starts game 2"

You guys are something, vicious slash and you say Stone is faking.
Now they say it's fractured and you still say he's faking.
Quintal has already said there no suspension so even if he died now, that issue is done.

... And now Subban apparently "threatened" Stone before the play. Funny how neither the injury nor the threat were even alluded to last night, yet both come out less than an hour after the reports of no supplemental discipline came out.
In half an hour, we'll be hearing about Subban hiring Marlon Brando to pop by Stone's house before the game and make cryptic comments about his dog.

What if he plays the next game? at the very least they are playing it up unless he misses game two

He'll shockingly heal and be playing. They're doing this to change the media spotlight away from Cameron's moronic statements last night and lobby for a Subban suspension.

In this case I don't think there is any chance that anyone think that it is anything but an arm injury. They could say "upper body injury", but everyone knows what happened. It would be ridiculous.

Playing it up for what? Quintal already made his decision.

Trying to rattle Subban maybe? Create a distraction for him at least?

They already said no suspension.
I imagine a microfracture is smaller than a hairline fractuer and what my kid (the one in the pic with Gaudreau) had - no bones out of place, and hard to even see on an xray that anything is amiss. Probably not even right through the bone - just like a barely visible crack. With my kid they were undecided for a week whether it was a small fracture or just growth plates.
I can't say it's gamesmanship and I don't think Stone embellished - I bet it hurt a lot and he probably thought it was broken off the bat. But I do think if it wasn't for the accusation they'd probably not even disclose it.

to cover the coach for his stupid comments, and to cover the players ass for comments and actions. His reaction coupled with coming back a minute later for the PP is suspicious if you ask me. Guy was happy to get in a scrum at the end of the game too.
If he is back for game two how can anyone say they aren't playing up the injury? Why come out and say it otherwise?
