Looks like Johnny is bouncing on a mini trampoline. Bring on Friday, can't wait.

Backlund simply wants to do too much with the puck, especially in the neutral zone. He's not as skilled as anyone on the top line, so he can't so it, so he should be dumping it in, or if having the puck high in the zone, get it low. He tries passes or dekes too often in those situations. Though, he's played worse than tonight multiple times over the past 2 months.

Yeah....you can and they will.

And yes it was pessimistic.

What a game! They were definitely tentative early on and understandably so, but got their legs going in the second and third periods.

Sam Bennett was our best forward through the first two periods. I see no way they take him out of the lineup at this point.

Ferland is built for the playoffs, he is an absolute beast!

I'm definitely a bit concerned about Monahan. He looked very tentative out there, especially early on.

For the first playoff game in six years, I am extremely impressed. That is a massive road win!

Strong presence of Flames fans in Van? you could hear the go Flames go during parts of the broadcast.

Nerves showed in the beginning, Hiller kept them in it, and the 3rd was where they could start breaking through the Vancouver D capitalizing on hits to the D from earlier.

I wonder who's going to get the puck that Brodie grabbed at the end?

Yeah, agreed. Don't think it was a good game, he really struggled at times but this was his best game in several weeks. He had some good chemistry with Bennet and had some good rushes.

Some bonehead plays too. But I say leave him in, hope he he playing out of it.

Great game from start to finish. Canucks got a goal due to some serious puck-luck. Hiller was very sharp when he needed to be.

Also, I love Michael Ferland. This guy is going to be a beast. I was very annoyed when Feaster said: "He could be Kassian". This kid is going to be the next Chris Simon. He is going to hurt you all over the ice, and on the stat sheet too. Love this kid already.

We all knew Bennett would be flying out there tonight, and I thought he would create some offence. I am rather shocked at how few errors this kid makes too. So poised already. What a beauty.

And one more thing.. Russell is simply awesome.

Hopefully Monahan can start healing up. We need that top line beasting like it has been.

I think Backlund did fine. Some weird decisions and giveaways on the offensive side of things, very decent defensively. I wish he'd shot that puck on that 2 on 1.

I mentioned earlier in the season that Ferland is exactly the type of player you need on a team to be successful in the playoffs. He's the 2010 version of Bollig, a mad dog chasing the puck and running over anyone in his way. So glad he's a Flame

Game 1 Flames win check. A Flames rookie is key on the gwg check. Goal scored in last minute check. Canuck fans losing swagger check.
