This will be a good test of Strombo's professionalism

Oh, give me a break. He didn't miss a shift. You don't go from "broken arm" to "feeling fine" that fast.

Seems funny to me that the Habs are supposed to be the diving wussies and the Sens the tough team that plays the right way, yet Ottawa's spent the first two periods flopping around and faking hurt.

Take the home ice goggles off for a minute. Listen to the SN guys who explained what I saw better than I could. I don't think it was a dive. But lucky it was more of a stinger. That would hurt no matter how you slice it. And that's after seeing the slash four more times in that intermission.

Kypreos has been hit in the head a few too many times. Of course the refs are going to talk about it in the intermission regardless if you say "you can't do that".

PK Subban can come back from a gunshot wound without missing a shift...

I don't think I've ever seen 5 and a game for a slash like that. It was a deliberate slash but this penalty will be talked about for a while as it's the wrong call. I hate the Habs so better it happens to them and Subban but it's a bad call.

I've always found that, if the Sportsnet crew backs your opinion, it's a good idea to change your opinion.

If the same play happens later tonight with Brodie in Subban's place and Burrows in Stone's, you'd want Burrows' head on a platter, and you'd be right to do so.

Now it's a bad call, because Stone is ok. I agree though that it would have been tough to not give 5 and a game after the reaction.

I think the argument that Subban adjusted his grip is valid.

If he didn't choke up on his stick that would have been 2 minutes.

If Brodie swings his stick like that at Burrows, I'd be livid at Brodie for doing something so stupid, especially on someone who you know will embellish to get the call like Burrows.

It should have been 2 mins in the box. I don't know how that gets 5 and a game other than Stone acting like Ribiero.

I don't know if Stone embellished. Maybe he did.

But for sure that was a nasty slash.

It's not 2004 anymore where the more lumberjacks you have, the better.

You can't chop star players on the wrist any more as a matter of strategy.

it's the right call on the ice and it wouldn't surprise me if Subban also gets a game suspension, depending on how hurt stone is.

We should all know by now, and why it was extra embarrassing listening to Strombo just now, and Johnson during the period, that just because a guy is playing doesn't mean he isn't hurt or injured.

We will never know really if it hurt him bad or not. I tend to think that if you get hit from a slash like that and are in that much pain you don't come back that quickly but nothing can be proved here. IMO 4 minutes at the very most as the ejection of their best defenseman is bigger than just the 5 minutes.
