That was deliberate attempt to injure. Five and a game is the minimum that should have been called.

Not sure if that deserved a game misconduct, but...

That was a harsh penalty. Intent to injure? Common. Wacks like that are given/taken on every shift. It just happened to hit Stone's sweet spot.

They should treat that like high sticking and call it a double minor. It wasn't an intent to injure but was a careless and dangerous play that resulted in an injury.

Precisely, and he probably wouldn't have got anything if stone had the puck.

5 for the slash, game for making the refs look like idiots with his earlier head chop.

Can they assign a harsher penalty based on injury? Aside from high sticking, I thought penalties were supposed to be doled out with no consideration for possible injuries.

What are the exact rules - was there any middle ground for the refs (ie. 5 minute major, or 5 minute major and 10 minute misconduct)?
He didn't really help himself by objecting to the world's most obvious call. Also, didn't he get away with a high stick call reversal in the first?

And they tie it. BULL. ####ING. ####.
PK - If you're gonna get a major for nothing, at least get him in the face, or somewhere that'll actually hurt.

Its always based on penalty. Ie 4 minutes for drawing blood.

I thought the PP was pretty bad 4 on 3 but for some reason became deadly 5 on 4. Still over 2 minutes of PP time for Ottawa to take the lead.
