So...since the "nickname that can not be mentioned" is out for the Sedins, I am struggling to find a suitable replacement that is PC and yet expresses my strong dislike and utter contempt for them both (dive and choke much? cough cough).
Candidates so far:
Swedish meatballs
The Twin Flowers
Mutant Alien Twins
I think the depth thing is overblown. We have good players that are establishing themselves. Not everyone is going to be a top prospect and a first round pick.
Guys like jooris and ferland undrafted and late round pick won't get the recognition but they are good players.
Just like with any good team that's builds from drafting and developing players it's not the first rounders it's the late round guys who become a key component to the team. These guys are new to the scene so the media and everyone think they suck or just a fluke year. I think it's the opposite, we have watched them all year a guy like jooris has the speed and hands He's a good hockey player.
Thr canucks do not match up well with our forwards. We are a fast aggressive skilled group that is going to run them into the ground. This team is amped up and ready to go.
When they needed a big game and a win they have always come our flying and I don't expect any different.
If we can force the sedins to dump and chase and have our top line score on them this thing is done in 5.

is Ponyboys PC? I'm not a great judge.
I wish them another year of playoff misery.
Ponyboys are offensive to Ponyboy. The twins aren't Golden, they're Ginger.
Ooops. Ginger isn't precisely PC. Red headed step children?
This is all I have to say to the advanced stats crowd.
Put away the calculator, and just enjoy the ride.
The calculator (which I guess means "making statistical observations") is part of the ride, in that it makes the whole thing more fun for some people.
But this series is such a coin flip that the statistical analysis going in isn't worth harping on. Vancouver should be slightly favoured, but only slightly, and not enough for anyone to have any real confidence in them based on useful metrics.
