Fans and players taking every prediction that goes against them as a slight in a series that most agree is a toss-up is awful.

You should start with a lite beer and then after the Flames' first goal graduate to full-strength beer, then after the second goal maybe red wine and after the third goal straight whiskey only, and so on until the eleventh goal when you get onto the heroin beer.

Tell the truth. You stay in because of the riots, right? It's like the Purge around there during the playoffs.

Guinness is actually lower in calories and alcohol content than many other beers.

I believe the teams with the longest odds at the beginning of the season (ie. Cgy, Buf, Wpg, Car, Edm) were around 200:1 to win the Cup. I would guess 30:1 to make the playoffs.

Going to be in LA for Game 2, anyone know where I can catch the game at a pub or something, first time in LA as well. Chris Cuthbert is going to be calling all Canadian games so that will be a treat.

Skip the beer. Drink red wine. Because, RED!
I shall have a glass of red wine every day until the end of the Flames playoffs time.

By memory (I have no proof) the longest odds to win the cup in October were less than 100-1, and I think CGY was more like 70-1.
To make the playoffs they were more like 9-2.
Nobody gets 30-1 to make the playoffs.
I know it felt like a miracle for us, but those odds are greatly exaggerated.

On most other message boards, I see the Flames are being adopted by fans of other teams. The Jets and Sens are getting some love, but the Flames are far and away the darlings of the NHL right now. No one is pulling for the Canucks outside of BC. They did a great deal of damage to their brand in 2011.

What part of LA?
Yardhouse at LA Live will always have games you request. Right next door to the Staples Center.

I personally hate that a lot of the experts peg us as favorites I would rather they say we have no chance and we are going to get destroyed. unless it's ol ketchup cheeks...

Thanks CroFlames!
We'll be staying in Culver City, like 5 mins away from Westfield Mall, if that helps with point of reference...

Fair enough I'm just going purely by my memory, which is questionable at best.

That was the old group that needed that motivation. To prove everyone wrong.
This group, thanks to Hartley, is all about proving themselves right.

I'm not exactly "from" here, so I'm no expert especially that area. I'm more of an OC guy.
Basically stay away from Inglewood, Compton, Montebello, East LA, West LA, South LA....
The area you are in isn't bad. Very touristy, but not very "sporty". I'm sure you could find sports bars, but I bet the atmosphere there sucks. And if you plan on going to Hollywood Blvd (which is kinda cool in it's own right) Dave & Busters should have the game on for you (Right by dolby theater if memory serves)
