Mason Raymond is good at one thing and one thing only, initial rushes. Once he finishes a rush he should immediately go for a line change. He's has the worst cycle game I've seen in a while, not a smart hockey player.

Bennett at the wing makes perfect sense, he brings (potentially) brings alot to the line up but not nearly good enough at center to handle all that NHL playoff responsibility.

Or they're trying to get the kid comfortable in case they need him. Playoffs can be hard on your roster health.

IMHO Bennett looked OK Sunday, but not ready to just step into a roster spot -- understandable for his first pro game. But he was a bit scrambly and trying to catch up with the play a lot of the time, at least mentally. It'll come, but I don't think Hartley will just drop him into the first playoff game this team has seen in 7 years.

I'd be happy to be wrong, BTW.

Just checked -- Raymond is scoreless and -4 in three games against Vancouver this year.

I never imagined saying this at the beginning of the season, but man I wish Rafa Diaz was back. He's been quite good on that third pairing.

Is Wotherspoon really worse than Potter and his 3 minutes of ice?

so happy to hear bennett may slot in over Raymond, that play against winnipeg was quite possibly the weakest attempt to check someone in the history of hockey

Bennett with Backlund and Colborne is perfect, they all have pretty good puck possession. Perfectly capable of being a decent 2nd line.

I agree Raymond had been probably the most disappointing Flame this year, but I'll forgive him for setting up the GWG vs the Kings.

I would leave Bollig in the line up, with all that youth we are going to need some guys who have playoff experience.

Loving these lines

Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Bennett-Backlund-Colborne
Ferland-Stajan-Jones
Bollig-Granlund-Jooris

I think all of these lines would match-up well against the Sedins. Even the 4th line.
Ferland has added a lot to this team's size and depth.

Mason Raymond definitely in "odd man out" territory this morning. #Flames
