I love it. It's a great matchup for the flames and everyone knows it. If we were up against the blues / ducks it'd be a different story.

Me: Mam, the reason why I stopped you is you were doing 100km/hr in a 70 zone.
Her: Was I? I didn't think I was...
Me: Can I see your license and vehicle registration please?
Her: Hands over license, insurance, vr.
Me: You a Vancouver Canucks fan?
Her: Yes, I am from Vancouver. Love the Canucks!
Back to my cruiser I go. Wrote her a $75 ticket. I did give her a bit of a break.

Wow. I didn't know cops were allowed so much subjectivity about things like that.

Honestly there's no explanation for Hughson calling this series other than him getting to take his pick. If he's the networks' number one pbp guy he should be doing mtl-ott.
I look forward to his overly dramatic pitch changes every time burrows or the sedins touch the puck.

I can reduce the fine, give a fine, give a warning. She was also going 10 more than the other guy. I still reduced it to a 90. The whole Flames/Canucks thing was just coincidence.

Next time I get a ticket I'm going to tell the officer that I'm a CP member, and hope it's you! Haha

So do I just have ####house luck then? No tickets in the last 9 years, pulled over doing 115 on Stoney, tried to be as nice and courteous to the officer as possible, but still drove away with a $110 ticket

I love how the first 3 games of flames/nucks series is on the same night as the other all Canadian matchup of habs/sens.
Looking forward to the 6 hours straight on the couch watching playoff hockey.

Wait, OPP or municipal? Need to know if I should be racing through the city or keeping up with the idiots on the 401.

Tickets still available for all games in Vancouver through ticketmaster... Stubhub is actually selling below face value right now for the games there.
Vancouver fans are no good.

Municipal. OPP won't cut you a break but as long as you are under 120 you will be good.

For all the Canucks hatred I harbour, I don't for the least find this amusing or professional. And people wonder why a lot of people distrust the police nowadays.
Sorry I'm not impressed. If a police officer is willing to profile or give preferential treatment to someone based on something as petty as their hockey fandom, what happens when they happen to be a colour or race you don't tend to prefer?
I certainly hope I don't get pulled over by you, you might not like the band playing on my radio, and judge my punishment accordingly.

Oh come on. We all have stories of being thrown the book by an officer when getting pulled over and stories of being let off with a warning on what would have been a very expensive ticket.
Either way, in this situation, both people broke the law. Regardless of whatever break was given, both people received fines for it. It was a funny story, and a story it should stay.

I was waiting for some holier than thou poster to jump on this. You obviously missed the post later where I stated the Flames/Canucks thing was a coincidence, that the woman was doing 30 over the posted zone, and that I reduced her fine. Do cops let off people sometimes for silly reasons or because they know them? Of course they do. When you were selling cars did you give CPers a break on prices? A would bet a bunch you did. Love how you are trying to twist this into something major. I let the majority of people I catch doing 10-20 over off because a warning is just as effective as a fine usually, as long as they are polite and they recognize what they did. If you are going to argue with me or give me a hassle you are getting it. We call it an a-hole charge. As for race or colour I have no preference there and I find it pretty damn insulting that you would imply that. This isn't the States and I didn't shoot an unarmed black man so cut it out.
