I hate when they do this draw for playoffs ticket codes... the scalpers have this thing down to an art and spam the entry list with a million names, it seems like the number of my friends who are successful at getting tickets goes down significantly when they move to the draw for codes from the online at X:XXam on whatever day and limit the tickets to a max of 2 or 4 per order that they used to do.

Secondary market is already ramped up, bleeders going for 250 per and second deck on the ends for 400 per

He has a great voice and can call a great game. Problem for me is if the Flames are playing great he will sound a bit pouty. He also seems to then focus on what ails the Canucks and not focus on how good the other team is playing.

Oh well to complain about who calls our PLAYOFF GAMES!!!! Is a bit silly.

He's just a homer and there is no way to hide it, but I honestly don't think that he makes a conscious effort to do it.

Regardless, if you asked me in September if I'd take a playoff berth, even if Hughson ended up calling it, I'd consider that detail fairly trivial.
As you guys know Rick ball is a big BC guy having done Canucks radio pbp and before that hosted one of the best radio shows and before that in Kelowna for many years.

I would've loved him to do this series. But I hear yah on hughson

Wait it is confirmed Hughson is doing flames/Canucks series?? Ugh worst homer in all of NHL, now I really hope the flames burn them just so I can hear his pouty sour voice be all depressed.

Agreed.

From a technical PBP perspective, he's great. But he's undoubtedly a Canucks fan (though it gets overstated by some how often his bias comes through).

Although I'm not surprised, I'm frustrated that the special little snowflake Canucks won't ever have to play out of their own time zone in this series. Even on a Sunday.

Yes I get that Rogers wants to maximize potential views, but it unfairly advantages the Canucks. They always seem to get scheduling concessions out of the league. How many times this season did they get a team on Saturday night in their building on the second night of back-to-backs?

Honestly, my bias against Hughson is not so much his PBP, he's undoubtedly good, it's because way back when I played Peewee he was coaching North Vancouver in the Crowchild Challenge and I hurt one of his players with a hit. he then comes on the ice looking like he was going to check his player but instead just proceeds to scream and swear at me. Classic ***hole minor hockey coach, but of course the only reason I still remember that is because he's also a big time hockey announcer. Never forgive him for that, I already was feeling bad for hurting the kid then this adult makes me fricken pissed off and scared.

I know it's been a while since the Flames were in the playoffs but haven't the majority of their home playoff games been at 8 MT because of being the late game on CBC? When I lived in Manitoba I always remember watching the games at 9 CT.

Its too bad Chris Cuthbert doesn't work for Sportsnet. His play calling in 2004 was awesome. That Gelinas goal still gives me chills when I hear it.

I just wanted to warn everyone I discovered a huge/ridiculous glitch in the Flames insider playoff ticket registration page. If you registered on a mobile device through the mobile site, congratulations! you have not been registered for anything because the "yes, i want to be eligible for playoff tickets" option does NOT appear. I had to attempt to register again and update my profile via an email they sent to me. If you are using and Android device, use Chrome and from the menu, select request desktop site, otherwise you will only be subscribed as a flames insider and not be in the draw for tickets. Hopefully the Flames read this and fix this BS so mobile users have a fair chance at tickets!!

I'm not sure I like all this media favourability. I like it when it's Flames against the world.
