Amongst the reasons this could be a good matchup for the Flames is the fact that they'll be facing a team as inept at faceoffs as they are.
Canucks top guys, in terms of draws taken, are further under 50% than Calgary's top guys.
I'm sure Canucks fans will throw Horvat out as a guy who is increasingly relied on, but even his numbers aren't much better than Calgary's most reliable faceoff takers.

If that is what you think you can see, then I dare suggest that your eyesight (foresight?) is not very good.
Apart from the two weak goals Baertschi scored in a meaningless game against the worst team in the WC, he has scored exactly two goals in his last two seasons of NHL hockey. He is pretty much the least likely candidate to be an OT playoff hero for the Canucks in this series.

The only advantage is how Vancouver fans get to throw crap on the ice in game 7 to influence the play. A little known intangible.

I hope we strength on strength and put monahans line against the Sedins. It takes the physical play out if the equation and at this point our top line is better than their top line.
Against someone like Anaheim I would agree with trying to move them away from perry getzlaff but against the softer top lines we should go right at them.

This has to be the best possible matchup for the Flames...see no reason why we can't beat the Canucks....
I am hoping Hartley decides to give Bennett some ice time....we need some help on the bottom. 3 lines...

You are right he's not bad. He's terrible when doing Canucks games. His play call of the Sedins is more akin to doing PBP on a couple of old friends than professional. I really wish they had him doing the Ottawa/Montreal series but it's pretty obvious he gets to choose to do his beloved Canucks as I don't understand how a known Canucks fan gets to do a Canucks vs another Canadian team on a nationally televised broadcast. It would be just as much a slap in the fact to Canucks fans if the Flames regional guys were tagged to to the series.

I think that Ball and Hrudey would actually be professional and neutral. Obviously they'd have more in-depth knowledge of the Flames as they have followed them all season, but I don't think that you'd be able to hear their arousal over the microphone like you can with Hughson. He's just a homer and there is no way to hide it, but I honestly don't think that he makes a conscious effort to do it.
Regardless, if you asked me in September if I'd take a playoff berth, even if Hughson ended up calling it, I'd consider that detail fairly trivial.

I like Jim Hughson, I think he's one of the best to be honest.
He is also a Canucks homer... so I'm disappointed he'll be calling our series and not the OTT/MTL one.
