The Vancouver Canucks draw the Calgary Flames in the first round? What does that mean? It means bad news for the Vancouver Canucks!

As of today I hate this Canucks team far less than the 2011 group which is my most hated sports team of all time. It will take about 30 seconds into game 1 that the deep hate will come back.

Don't worry, there are still a few ######bags on that team (Bieksa and Burrows, I'm lookin' at you).

'Experience' is just a fancy word for 'Old.'

The Sedins are a creaky 34 and we're going to be icing hungry 20 and 21 year olds.

My hate for the Canucks has never waned. In fact, it has only intensified. I don't know if it is time and I just don't remember how cheap Cooke and Ruutu were in 2004, but I hate the core of the current Canucks team.

Despise Burrows and Bieksa and hope Ferland (it will have to be him because you know both these clowns will run from Engelland) clobbers the both of them. I respect Dorsett cause he's a good tough, team player but I think my hate for him will grow after this series. Kassian is a serious dink and Hansen is a mini Burrows.

And course, my biggest hatred is for their fans and media. I respect some of the veteran Canuck fan posters on this board, but the majority are idiots.

LET THE HATE FLOW!!!

Kind of okay with the Coilers losing tonight--not sure we need the home ice start. They get first two at home, Flames take at least one, and come home to a rocking crowd. Meanwhile Vancouver is melting down and flipping goalies. That way when we win in 5, their home crowd will be nicely concentrated downtown for efficient mayhem.

Why are people saying we might get home ice? If we win and Vancouver loses today we both end up with 99 points but Vancouver will have 1 more win and be ahead. Or am I missing something?

Flames will still have more ROW's, which means they finish ahead.

Ah. I missed the "excluding games won in the Shootout" part.

I thought Flames could also win this in the shootout today, end tied with Canucks in ROW's, and still get 2nd on the next tiebreaker, head to head matchup?

Is it too early to put my old Flames car flags on my car? I got them out yesterday but then hesitated. Is it bad karma to put them on before the playoffs start? I don't want to jinx anything....

Canucks are currently two points up. We need a regulation win to catch them.

If the Canucks lose in regulation, any two points by the Flames gets them home ice (assuming EldrickOnIce is right about the next tiebreaker) and regulation, OT, and SO wins all get you 2 points

Umm....shootout win is 2 points as well. We just need a regulation loss from them.

I wonder if the Canucks will rest the sisters, Hamhuis, etc.
I know Miller is starting. Home ice would be helpful in a game 5 or 7

Yesterday on Team 1040, Matt Sekeres actually said he'd love to see a guy like Derek Dorsett... let me repeat that... Derek Dorsett shadow Gaudreau to work him over physically.

I almost crashed my vehicle in hysterical laughter. Later that night I prayed to the heavens that Willie Desjardins matches Dorsett with Gaudreau.

Dorsett was really effective during the Rangers scf run last season. I would think kenins will run a few flames.
