The difference is as a draft pick, guys like Gillies and Kreider were on their respective team's 80 man reserve list at the trade deadline.

Good point.

Today's game is a big reason why you have to not look at stats but actually watch the player play in order to see how he's doing. Janko is a good player.

While I agree with what you are trying to say, Omaha is clearly the inferior team tonight.
They have no system or structure, they mentioned it earlier in the broadcast that the forwards are pretty much told to do whatever they want and let Massa cover any defensive lapses.
Not sure if I would read too much into this game.

The only problem with Jankowski is he isn't truculent enough. He's defensively sound, a very skilled player, thinks the game well, and makes his line mates better. If he found a physical component like Colborne has he would be a monster prospect.

In other words this is a good preview of Janko vs the Oilers

Omaha's a weak weak team. End of their PP they just let a Providence player waltz in for a shot on net. D man was clueless as to what to do.

Yeah, but it's a final four semifinal game. Omaha got to the Frozen Four for a reason, little disingenuous to just brush aside such an important game.
And you can probably point to the previous two games as well, where Jankowski walked away with only 1 point, but was superb.

The Oilers should be offering a contract to Massa. That's what they need, a goalie who can stop everything even if he has no defensive support at all in front of him.

Frickin' play-by-play guy had to say the "S" word before the commercial break. Damn you!
