It certainly appears that he learned absolutely nothing the entire time he was with the Flames organization. You would hope that he may have been humbled by the whole ordeal but it appears he believes it was all the Flames fault and not his which is a shame for him.

With this outlook he would have been better off in Toronto or Edmonton they have a bunch of these players.

Baertschi definitely didn't have entitlement issues. None what so ever. And the Oilers are on the verge of greatness!

Odd, puzzling comments.
Imagine going into any profession, let alone as an athlete, with that kind of attitude.
Say you're an employer who goes out of your way to recruit someone and when they show up for the first week on the job, they say they are going to keep it status quo, without trying to upgrade their skills or be adaptable to change in the future. You try to give this employee all the tools they need to get better and have a great career. Instead they say, "Nah. I'm cool the way I am. It's what got me here. I don't need to change."
It seems like he just doesn't get it. I certainly don't wish him any ill will, but goodness, it appears common sense sometimes isn't so common.

The more I hear about Sven the more I think of Tom Erixon. Seriously.

Could never see myself wishing for his success after such moronic diva comments.

I'm glad Flames stuck to their guns. Last thing we need is the situation we have up north, where the young players dictate how the overall team plays. With that type of attitude, Sven was never going to fit in with the Flames culture.
If that's how he truly sees himself, then good riddance. I can't see a guy like Desjardins putting up with that crap either. Sven sounds more and more like he should be playing for the Oilers.

I used to like Sven Bärtschi and had even dubbed him the Messiah™ from his 2011-12 WHL season until he was traded. These passive-aggressive shots at the Flames are really beginning to piss me off. I didn't want to wish him success while he played for Vancouver, but now I could care less if ever makes it with any NHL team. The fact that some posters here actually want him to light up the Flames in the coming years just to spite us makes me sick.
Good riddance.

This trade is looking better and better every day. Had very high hopes for him in the beginning, but its obvious the Flames made the right choice with him.

Even Willie Desjardin has to be thinking "lol wut" with those comments.

Could Care Less

I keep thinking of Monahan when I read this stuff about Sven, because he has the exact opposite attitude. All Mony wants to do is get better. "What sophomore slump? Should get better every year." Working on strength, d-zone, face offs, details. To the point that Hartley has to remind him to keep up his offensive game.
Whereas Sven seems to want to just play how he played in Junior, against teenagers, and have things handed to him (ie "help me in any way they can").

I'm reading these comments and I feel like now that his image isn't being protected, he's running around going, "Come at me bro."
I wished him the best, not any more. Thank you Sven for making it very clear what you think of us. No more need to guess what you think and give you the benefit of the doubt any more.

And that's why Sean Monahan has 31 goals this year and Sven Baertschi is a healthy scratch.
