It's funny you say that. I have been there for two games against Calgary, two against Nashville and one against Tampa Bay. The Jets lost all 5 games. Only the first Flames game (October 2013: that Calgary won when Monahan scored the decisive goal in the shootout) was the MTS Centre loud and rocking. I remember when the Jets tied it with seconds to go in the third. A 50-something year old guy there with his mom turned around to me, in my Flames regalia, and told me to suck it.
The other games the stadium was pretty quiet and boring.

I'd like to take the time to laugh at everyone who thought the Jets would fall out. Including myself.
We all thought they'd be the most likely candidates (after us) to stumble but it looks like they're for real. Good for them.
Hopefully we can beat LA tomorrow and the last game is meaningless.

Sea of Red, the Whiteout, my god I hope Calgary ends it for LA Thursday. After being in the dome for game 4 of the 2004 finals, I get tingles thinking about playoff hockey.

So the arena is quiet on for a game in October? What arena isn't? I seriously don't get the whole our fans are louder for either side. You're an idiot if you think either the Dome or the MTS Centre won't blow peoples ear drums. It's the playoffs, and it's been a damn long time!!!!

I grew up in Manitoba, I remember when the Jets 1.0 were ripped away and exiled to the dessert.
I moved to Calgary in 2004, my second night in the city was when the Flames eliminated Vancouver. I literally watched Game 6 back in Manitoba while packing, and Game 7 while unpacking in Calgary.
The prospect of both the Flames & Jets in the playoffs this year makes me utterly giddy. I just hope it doesn't come down to the Saturday Jets/Flames game to decide one, I don't want a Rosemary's Baby situation on my hands.

Maybe it was because my expectations were high but considering it was a Friday night blowout win I expected more. The fans around me were even saying they thought the Jets were going to blow it when they were up 4-0.
I remeber sitting in a pub before the game started and it was packed! Then post game that big sports pub attached to the MTS empires out as fast as the rink itself.
At the end of the day if the Jets clinch Thursday which I think they will I don't mind the Flames chances of winning Saturday. Definitely moreso than if the Jets and Flames lose tomorrow

The Jets in the playoffs aren't a sure thing.
Thursday
LA regulation win over Calgary
Colorado regulation win over Winnipeg
Saturday
Calgary regulation win over Winnipeg
LA regulation win over San Jose
That's not that far fetched and it puts LA and Calgary in the playoffs with Winnipeg out.
Or
LA regulation wins over SJ and Calgary
Winnipeg regulation win over Calgary
That's LA in playoffs and Winnipeg. Nothing is for certain. My extreme high last night has been replaced with cautious optimism, knowing that Thursday will either make Saturday a joyous day of celebration and relaxation or extreme panic and terror for our fan bases.
Flames... beat the Kings tomorrow

It's pretty much a sure thing. I'm convinced Calgary will beat LA, and knock them out. The Jets are really coming to gel as a team, and are red hot, and they face a injury depleted and demoralized Avalanche team. We just can't take our foot off the gas, like LA did yesterday. We should be fine.
Wouldn't it be awesome if the Flames and Jets went deep in the playoffs and ended up meeting in the Conference Final. That would be epic.

I fully expect every single media to pick vancouver to sweep the flames when predictions come. Then laugh at them again as we win the series in 7.

I give a ton of credit to Chevy. He made some great trades at the deadline, without those im not sure they're where they are right now

I don't think anyone will pick a Vancouver sweep. I suspect you'll see a lot of media predicting Van in 6-7, though, which no one should really be offended by. Flames will go into the series as a slight underdog.
That being said, I think the issue Vancouver will likely have in such a series if it happens is what the heck do they do with goaltending? Miller comes back - do they start him over the guy who carried them into the postseason down the stretch? Absolutely hilarious how Vancouver can trade both starting goalies and still wind up with a goalie controversy in the playoffs.

Without Gio and Ramo, the Flames will go into any series as a massive underdog. But nobody would predict a sweep, simply because the Flames are too unpredictable.

It makes me nervous that everyone is already talking about the sea of red and the series against Vancouver.
The Flames have 2 tough games ahead of them, and have not clinched anything yet.

Not really sure why you're putting regulation everywhere. The Kings do own the tiebreaker. If they win their next 2 they finish with 97. If the Jets were also to finish with 97 (0-1-1), the Kings would pass them that way.

I also agree with this but we're just fans day dreaming.
I'm sure the team is focused entirely on LA.

Yeah... and? If the Jets lose both their games in overtime... then they have 98 points and are ahead of LA. Quite a correction you've made.
I love the internet. I was already saying how easy it is for the Jets to not make it... yet the edit you've made by Jets losing in overtime/shoot out actually puts them back in.

If the Flames and the Jets clinch tomorrow it will be interesting to see the playoff match up scrambling.
The Flames get Vancouver.
But the Jets could end up playing any of the top 4 teams St.L. Nash, Chi or Ana as could Minnesota.
Very different teams ... Minnesota is a small no-hit team and the Jets are a big bashing team. Minnesota has been the best team in the league since Dubnyk
Playing the Jets in round 1 will leave some injured players, if playing them in a series does not wear you down LA style.
As both the top end and the Jets/Min wild card positions can change it might not be till game 82 that the top teams blow a game to try to line up their most favorable playoff matchup.

What? First off I didn't say how easy it for the Jets to miss it. It's a correction to the scenario you brought up about the Jets missing.
The Kings don't need regulation wins, there is literally nothing different between a regulation win and an OT/SO win for the Kings when it comes to their battle with the Jets. Hence why they were crossed out completely.
The Jets, if the Kings get their 97 points, would still miss the playoffs if they went 0-1-1, hence the half crossed off regulation for the Jets losses.

You're acting like it's malicious but the point was just that the Jets didn't clinch if the Kings win in OT.
Also, if Thursday happens like you say:
Saturday
Calgary win over Winnipeg
LA win over San Jose
Is still enough to cost the Jets the playoffs...
