Even the 3 scenarios for the "No, ..." could land the Flames in the playoffs.

There's two games to play and we're planning a parade already despite the fact LA is going to do everything in their power to romp us. It could still get very ugly come Saturday if both Calgary and Winnipeg lose Thursday.
I'm just saying we're getting ahead of ourselves with all this p-word speculation. The odds have increased dramatically in the last 14 hours, but let's just wait it out. No need to jynx it!

Simply for the sake of drama, I suspect both remaining Flames games will be tied after regulation. I realize Calgary has good stats after regulation and L.A. has terrible stats after regulation, but I have a bad feeling that this just won't be easy. Therefore, I see both games as losses (in OT vs. L.A.; in a SO vs. Winnipeg), with L.A. beating S.J. in regulation. This will see Calgary and L.A. finish the season tied at 97 points with Calgary granted 8th spot (2nd wildcard) due to a narrow tie-breaker victory. (I believe I have this correct).

The Flames can finish second in the Pacific, third in the Pacific, or ninth. The Flames cannot finish in either wild card spot.

Would take an epic collapse by the Ducks to manage that one.

Jinx?
The Calgary Flames could literally lose every game for the rest of the season and still make the playoffs.
That's awesome.

Lol. I forgot Vancouver is in second. We'd get first in Pacific due to being awesomer than Anaheim

Still too hard to predict, but at least they control their own destiny. They're gonna have to play the game of their lives on Thursday. The Kings can be a scary team when they're desperate. If the Flames can limit their turnovers and Hiller can stay in his crease, we'll have a good chance.

I read the first 4 posts of this thread but I just can't read anymore.
Be positive! They are playing a team that is still below us in the standings for good reason. They lost to the oilers last night. The Kings are not making the playoffs this season. I've been saying that for months.
Jets and flames in, Kings out and it will end on Thursday so the Saturday game won't matter.

Flames have played the Kings well all year - I have no doubt they will take care of business on Thursday night.

Either way it was as fun a season as you can have missing the playoffs.

The Kings have struggled against the Flames all season, and they seem to have trouble with Calgary's speed specifically. As long as the Flames keep their feet moving, they'll be ok. Just gotta limit the turnovers in their own zone, which to me is be the biggest issue with their game right now. They do that and they'll win.

How deep do the Flames need to go to get Giordano back?

This is it right here. I think their best chance is the Kings game, because Winnipeg is simply playing too well right now.
It's still going to be tough, and the Flames sometimes look like they're being held together with bubble-gum and paper clips. But man--if they can just squeeze out one more game...

Probably win the cup with all games going to 7 games. Surgically repaired bicep injuries take a long time to heal and rehab.
As for the poll question, I can't seem to answer it without clutching my chest and screaming "My left arm . . . its the big one"
Look at the start of this run in Jan, I predicted that probably 94 points would be the playoff boundary, and here we are now, at 95 points, with very little help from the out of town score board for the last month, and we're in a playoff spot with two games left to go. I have little reason to go against the Flames this year.
But doing things the easy way isn't our style, I have a feeling that we get beaten by the Kings, and then win in the shootout against the Jets to clinch.

When I've watched the Kings lately, I can't help but think they're are players on that team that'd be just as happy thing a break this summer. They seem tired to me. They don't have the edge they've had in the past.
I won't be surprised in they lay another egg in one of heir 2 remaining games then come out strong again next season.
