US media loves the idea of a potential superstar dubbed as JOHNNY HOCKEY. That's going to get him votes over a boring swede and another Canadian. I don't think its necessarily right, but it's going to happen.

If the Flames do make it, there's no question Johnny will get it.

Gaudreau means more to his team than Stone, and has scored at a consistent pace all year. Stone has been good, but I'd take Gaudreau 10 times out of 10.

There's no articulation for how right this is.

How many Calder winners come from college?
How many Hobey Bakers win the Calder?
How many little guys just prove people wrong?

From the moment Johnny got hit with that stick tonight he was a monster out there. I think that was one of his best games all season, holy crap.
Dear LA, please hit Johnny with a stick.

The speed that he got the shot off was insane. Everything he does is just unreal, I watch him play and the things he does just don't seem possible. The most confusing is the flick the puck forward when his stick is directly in front of him, it doesn't even make sense.

There's only been one so far: Chris Drury.
Drury's coach in his rookie year? Bob Hartley.
The Avs won the Cup in Drury's third pro season.

I agree. Mad Johnny was insane. He was not happy about that hit and came out to make them pay.
Same with MOnahan after his goaltender scuffle!

Gaudreau's point total should be higher imo. The amount of high quality scoring chances that he creates that don't get capitalized is astonishing. Plus he's smaller and shorter than the other rookies... and to excel at his size in the NHL should not be over looked.

That's why I'm that much more optimistic about our future. I think there's room to improve his already impressive stats pretty quickly. He'll learn how to pot more of those chances.

The original problem I see is that the boring Swede is named Forsberg even if there is no relation. The HFboards consensus of late seems to be for Stone though.

I know what you are saying, but I'm not sure that's true. He's playing with two 30 goal scorers this year. Monahan and Hudler have also proven that they are ridiculous snipers as well, so I'm not sure Johnny's point totals are deflated by the lack of finishing the things he creates. Maybe if he was playing with Ovy or Sid he's have a few more, but he's got some good back up on his line.

Imagine for a sec if Johnny played with Sid.
Let that sink in for a bit.
