Since I'll be out (and/or driving) during much of this game, I've got some difficult decisions to make.

Option 1: Put myself under a social media (and general social contact) embargo until I'm able to get home, get my son to bed, and get a beverage in my hand at about 9:00 and start watching from scratch with the help of my PVR. The risk, obviously, is hearing or seeing the score prematurely and ruining my tape-delayed excitement.

Option 2: Try my best to follow live with the technology available to me, while being a neglectful father and also missing portions of the game, particularly towards the end.

Although this sounds like a problem, I'm just thrilled that it is April and the games are important enough to put me in such a predicament.

Jimmy try my solution. Load up the NHL app and while you are putting kids down and reading books etc, cover up the flames score and only look at opponents score. If you see 0 or 1 like an hour in, I'm pretty stoked.

So solution is half follow and half watch later heh

I've found that if you really are serious about it, you can avoid the score and watch it on PVR. But it's very difficult.

Bonus: skip through commercials and intermissions.

So are we going to start Thiessen to stop the first shot against before putting Hiller in?

Seems to solve his issue with allowing goals right off the bat!

Hope the Flames take advantage of this favourable matchup just like they did on Saturday. Ideally with a better first.

I find it easy to watch on PVR delay. Just don't have notifications push to your phone and tell the buddies you text with during the game that you won't be live. I do it all the time for eastern games and it is awesome skipping commercials and intermissions

Jimmy, you have to go with option 1; it's worth the risk. Half watching is just not worth it.

Just be careful about things you normally wouldn't think about. Social media is obvious, but watch out for text messages, radio station DJs, and accidentally logging on to CP to participate in the game day thread.

Yep. I've done that. "Let's avoid the score... by going to the place where everyone is talking about it!" Habits are hard to break!

I'm going to devote all of my brain cells to not spoiling it for myself so I can watch this one in its entirety on the PVR.

Jooris' media comments today are awesome!

News Talk 770 Stamps @Newstalkstamps
@JJooris19 on scoreboard watching: "I should probably do a better job trying to stay away from that stuff!"

News Talk 770 Stamps @Newstalkstamps
@JJooris19 on controlling destiny: "It's exciting. We're two regulation wins away from clinching a playoff berth."

Love that it isnt cliche. These guys know what is needed are excited to do it
