Can they surprise a tired team? Would they do the Flames a favour?
I feel like LA fans are asking the same thing of the yotes tonight.

One of those times when Flames conditioning could work to their advantage late in the game.
That said, tonight is likely only equivalent of a light skate for LA

We should pull the old "Make Noise outside of the hotel" trick on the Kings.

If Edmonton some how beats LA tonight, I will renounce all previous and future belief systems and put pen to paper on the first verse of the first book of the Holy Bible of Hockey and begin worshiping the hockey savior (Jamie Lundmark)

The first book shall be entitled: "Edmonton is no Good?"

Last night's game was infuriating watching the Jets capitalize on lucky bounces and then getting away with full on tackles, head locks and bear hugs around their own net.

On the bright side, if the Flames win tonight and then beat LA in regulation, we are in. GFG!

Interesting how this is lining up. 3 games left. Win two of 3 we should be in but it's very key which games we win.

1. Win games 1 and 2 (in reg) - in
2. Win games 2 (in reg) and 3 - in
3. Win games 1 and 3 - iffy
(Would need an LA loss in SJ, or some extra help from Winnipeg)

I wonder if there's any chance the Oilers actually were embarrassed at losing 8-2 and will play like an actual NHL hockey team tonight. Maybe a slim one?

For most teams I would agree, but this is the Oilers, they're a special kind of terrible. I'm expecting another blowout.

They have a ton of injuries too so they are not exactly icing their best lineup.

The oilers versus the Flames was suppose to be the game they got up for (they made it a point to talk about this as a team). They lost 4-0. I am really not expecting much from them. Oilers victories are like finding money on the ground (talking about bills not coins). Happy when it happens but you can't go outside expecting for it to happen.

There are 18 teams ( in the east and 9 in the west) that have over 90 pts and would be considered to be solid playoff teams ... The lowest teams Ottawa and LA are 13 pts off of the President's trophy winner.

Which of the teams in the west playoff race are the most dangerous heading into the playoffs... How have they done against the other playoff teams.

The playoff race began in earnest at the start of March.

Since then the teams records against playoff teams

Flames (8 games) 4-3-1 beat Boston (SO) Detroit Nashville and Anaheim, lost to St.l 2X, min and lost to Ottawa in shoot out

Minnesota (12 games) 8-3-1 beat Ott (SO), wash , St.L 2x, Nash, NYI (SO), Calgary, LA, lost to wsh, NYR and Winnipeg and lost to Detroit in a SO

LA 12 games 4- 5-3 beat Mtl (SO) , Van NYR, NYI lost to Winnipeg, Nsh, Van, Chi, Min and lost to pit and ana in ot and Van in a SO

Winnipeg 13 games 8-5 beat LA NSH TB, St.L (SO), wsh, Mtl Van, min lost to Ott stl, van, chi, NYR

It would appear that Winnipeg and Minnesota have had the toughest schedule and played the best. Scary first round match up for the #1 seeds

LA has not done well against good teams.

I would guess that the top teams won't be upset if the Flames to make it to playoffs

Haha I would think the only hope of a chance would be from the best possible Oilers roster.

However, even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometime.

I think the only way Edmonton wins is if they sit #4 "I got this" Hall
