Dear hockey gods,
Please show this hardworking and non-tanking Flames team, made up of a group of warriors that lack divers, whiners and punks, some love.
Smite our enemies tonight.
Amen

That is not true, there is a scenario where we go 2-0-1 and get 98 points
The Jets got 2-0-1 and get 99 points
The Kings (assuming a win) go 2-0-1 and get 99 points
The Wild go 1-1-1 and get 99 points
The Canucks (assuming a loss tonight) go 2-0 and get 99 points
The Flames finish 9th in that scenario.

That is the only scenario with a loss where the Flames don't get help from out of town after tonight. We need Vancouver to beat LA in regulation in the worst way tonight. That will give us a possible cushion for a loss to Winnipeg or LA.

If we go 2-0-1 both the Jets and Kings cannot. That means we beat at least one of them. Only caveat is unless both games go to OT.

I gave you a very reasonable scenario where the Flames go 2-1 and get in but if you don't want to hear it that's okay
the "breakdown" earlier was not at all accurate but if you want to assume the Flames need to run the table thats fine

Yes but there is a worst case scenario where we go 2-0-1 and miss the playoffs.

I would guess the odds on that scenario are very, very slim.

Looks like Darren Haynes thinks it's all over for the Flames.
@DarrenWHaynes: April 6 was the day Calgary's playoff hopes were extinguished in 2010 and 2011. Doused chances in 2015 too, it seems. http://t.co/DY3PMgaLYs

Wouldn't that just put Winnipeg at 96 and Calgary at 93 with the Flames still having the potential to pass the Jets if Winnipeg loses out and Calgary wins?

I am looking forward to the final game of the NHL's season. Edmonton plays in Vancouver at 8pm. All other games that matter will be over before it starts. There could be a scenario where we need Edmonton to beat Vancouver in that game for Calgary to get in. It'd be neat to see what happens if Van needed a ROW and the game was tied in OT.
Calgary's game is over around 4pm that day.

If flames go 1-2 (win against Arizona), ie..get owned against LA and WPG, then what? we are out! Just a simple breakdown is what is needed. If we lose against Arizona: we are done! if we win against Arizona, to make postseason we need to beat either WPG or LA. need to take AT LEAST 2 out of those last 4 points. Thanks all I'm looking for..... a simple breakdown! wow!
