I was just thinking... in baseball of all sports, a pitcher gets a chance to warm up a bit if he's taking the mound mid game or whenever.
In hockey, the goalie doesn't even get a chance to stretch. Maybe hockey should be more like baseball.

Used to happen, but coaches started using it as a way to get a free timeout late in a game. Bob Johnson used to do it all the time when he was coaching the Flames.
They did still allow it if your goalie went down with an injury, but even that doesn't happen any more.
