Of the 4 teams that suck, and I am sure to get a rise out of this, but I kinda hope Toronto gets McDavid. The downside is they are already the center of the hockey universe but the upside is I think it would be spectacular for the overall NHL brand. T.O has been mediocre for years and even during their 90's/early 2000's they never got it done with what they had. Of the 4 teams who suck they seem like the one team who is at least trying not to suck and I really don't want to see McDavid go to an already prospect-rich team in Buffalo, to a terrible team in the Oilers who don't deserve ANOTHER first overall or to a mediocre franchise like the Coyotes. McDavid to the Leafs seems like the best possible scenerio for hockey right now just like when Crosby went to the Pens.

1) how does it benefit the league to give an incredibly healthy franchise a generational talent when it will have little impact economically?

2) would you release the video beforehand and make the reveal pointless?

Take it back...I think I would become more ill should Toronto win over Edmonton and that's saying something.

I'd way rather McDavid went to Toronto than the dumpster fire. I actually like the player and don't want to not like him because he's a stinking oiler.

1) $$$

2) I guess if there's a rep there from every team, may be hard to pull off anyway

What $$$, zukes? S.P. is right: if the Leafs get McDavid, it will have very little economic effect. They could fill the ACC every night if the team consisted of the Christmas Raccoons and a cardboard cutout of Johnny Bower, and they're already sucking up all the media revenue there is to suck. If the goal is to increase revenue and raise the profile of the game, Toronto is the very worst place for McDavid to end up.

There is absolutely no reason for the league to cheat in the Leafs' favour, and the other 29 owners would have Bettman's head in a minute if they suspected any shenanigans of that kind.

I know the odds of Columbus winning the lottery is so low but I am hoping they win the lottery. Of all the non-playoff teams right now, Columbus is the only one not tanking winning their last 8 games. If they win the lottery, I would be laughing and it just means Edmonton will not get a chance to get Eichel either.

Eichel is the one player we know the Oilers won't be getting. With four games left, they're 5 points ahead of Arizona and 5 behind Toronto. They're pretty much locked into 28th overall.

They'll have an 11.5% chance at McDavid, a 33.5% chance of picking third, and a 55% chance of picking fourth.
