This kid would have made the team out of camp if not for his injury, one would argue he did and was only sent down for conditioning. I'm very happy he finally gets his shot, he earned it.
Hartley's normal MO is to sit a guy for a game or two before adding him into the lineup, but with Bennett having been with the team for the majority of the season, attending meetings and participating in team practices... And with only a few games left in the regular season where they are fighting for their playoff lives... I say Bennett draws in against Edmonton.
It's all hands on deck for these guys right now, Hartley should play every card he's got.

that's how i see it, though, doesn't really matter. excited to see him wherever.
note that the above was not a mistake. would prefer seeing the stajan line getting more ice time than the raymond/colborne line.

I was at that pre-season game against Vancouver, and Bennett was amazing. Made something happen every time he was on the ice. I think it's exactly what the Flames need, and I can't wait to see him score a hat trick against the coil.

Flames need to win three of these last four games - anything that can help with that could be the difference between making the playoffs and not. Ultimately this was likely the realization that swayed BB and BT into having Sam join the team.

Would love to see him in the lineup against the Oilers but I think he might only get some practice time. Hartley has been pretty reluctant to inject a call up immediately into the lineup. Hope he makes the call but doubt it.

I like this but maybe it would be better to start Sam on the third line with sheltered minutes, and second-unit PP. As the game goes on and he seems ready, bump him up to Backlund's line.
To start:
Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Bouma-Backlund-Jones
Bennett-Stajan-Shore
Ferland-Jooris-Colborne
After a while:
Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Bennett-Backlund-Bouma
Ferland-Stajan-Shore

There is no way Hartley will put Backlund as a healthy scratch. If Bennett goes in, one of Granlund, Ferland, Bollig or Shore will be the odd man out. Raymond might be a possibility but I doubt it. Anyways I believe in Hartley making the right decision so I won't even question his decision.
