I wouldn't be disappointed if he didn't call up Sam to Calgary, Treliving hasn't disappointed me since he came. I want Sam playing with the Flames as much as you do.

You make a good point re: the Diaz injury and subsequent Wotherspoon recall changing the situation. Having to recall Wotherspoon probably increased the likelihood of Sam coming straight to Calgary.

I'm sure the management team was well prepared with plans in place for when the Frontenacs were eliminated. What they couldn't plan for was a D-man going down just as that decision had to be made.

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled center Sam Bennett from the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.

CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled center Sam Bennett from the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.
Bennett, a native Holland Landing, Ontario was the Flames first round pick (4th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The 18-year-old played 11 regular season games for Kingston and amassed 24 points (11G, 13A) before recording three assists in the Frontenacs’ four playoff games.

To be Honest, I could see Hartley making him sit the first game. Maybe his first game will be against Arizona.

However something tells me that he will be in the lineup Saturday and will lead a spark that continues the entire season.
