Flames recall Sam Bennett. UPD: Flames still deciding on AHL or NHL

KGN swept by NB in OHL 1st round, which means Sam Bennett will be returning to pro hockey. CGY will recall, TBD where he's assigned to.

Options include a return to NHL Flames or to AHL ADK. No decision yet but I suspect AHL is more likely. We will see.

My understanding on Bennett is #Flames still deciding. Very fluid situation. Belief is he's AHL bound, but all options still on the table.

The Flames could sure use a spark on any of the bottom 3 lines, don't see why we wouldn't bring him up...he could make a difference for us now.

Good god I hope it's to the Flames. Kid's going to go Bananas in his first NHL game.
Would LOVE to see him line up with Drew Shore. Seriously. No jokes. They could be a hell of a pairing. Slap whichever winger with them and BAM! Emeril just spiced up your meatloaf.

McKenizie guessing that the AHL is more likely. I hope not, Sam is a potential upgrade on a number of Flames forwards and therefore could give the team a better shot at the playoffs. In my mind it doesn't hurt to dress him against Phoenix or Edmonton and see how he fares.

Two direct flights from Ottawa to Edmonton tomorrow (Kingston to Ottawa is about a 2 hour drive): 7:40am and 5:40pm.
Toronto is slightly further away from Kingston, but has more flights.

I was in the camp that thought the Flames should hold off having him on the big club until next season. I would like to change my vote now. This team seems to have almost no jump beyond that first line. He could come in and shake things up in a big way.

Just take Raymond, colborne, bollig and maybe granlund out of the lineup with Bennett, ferland, Byron and Jooris!!!
Ferland replaces bollig.
Third line is
Jooris/granlund-Bennett-Byron

It's quite possible - and reasonable - that they go Adirondack first, and then Calgary.
But I think Adi is already dead, so I think they should just skip a step and have him join the Flames, where his energy would be a valuable, and much needed, spark.
