LOL...Yeah, and Chris Hardwick shouting "You're British?" the second he spoke was pretty hilarious.

I'm actually fine with that. I think that if zombies were real, it would be reasonable that like living people, some would be stronger/heavier than others, while some would be feeble, damaged and more decomposed.
I would think most would be fairly weak, but there would still be a few dangerous ones looming around.

Red poncho guy is "fresh" he should be healthier/tougher than zombies that have been kicking around for months or years.

IMO the "Wolvesnotfar" graffiti is both a warning to all the living and a general territorial marking. Same as gangs do nowadays.

Kind of a random fact, and maybe old news, but Stephen Yuen (Glen) has a Western Canadian connection. When his family immigrated from South Korea to North America, they first lived in Regina before eventually moving to Michigan.
The more you know.....

Then Glen has already lived through a savage world with ragged filthy corpses pawing at him where clean drinking water is scarce.

Maybe Morgan has been writing "WOLVES NOT FAR" as a warning to other survivors?
He doesn't wanna kill the wolves, but he also doesn't want them to harm other survivors.

I clearly understand the title of the thread. I'm not the one who wishes to discuss the comics, I was stating he didn't spoil, or come close to spoiling a single thing.
Anyways, back on topic. This:

That actually made me cringe - exceeded the bounds of my tolerance for silliness.

Normally I would agree but it appears walker bones are as strong as melted styrofoam these past few seasons, so it worked for me

Yeah, they are getting creative with the zombie kills, but the chain one felt silly to me. And the Rick head pop one seemed to be a total rip off of The Mountain crushing Oberyn's head in GoT last year.
The car door one was cool and funny.
I liked the episode and was entertained but didn't think it was amazing. Also, while I was originally excited for 90 minutes, it felt a bit slow, definitely dragged in parts.
The Good:
Morgan is back, and he's a kick ass buddhist monk to boot!
Great acting in that first scene.
Building up the threat of The Wolves, exciting and intriguing.
Gabriel, was creepily cool, found myself actually raging at him and his actions.
The Bad:
The resolution between the main group and the new group seemed quick and a little forced. Was liking the dark tone Rick and Carol were taking and the tension between the rest of the group and the new community.
Was there any point for the whole Glenn v asshat scene? I mean, build tension I guess, get some action in there. But it didn't make much sense (why would he follow him out into the woods? didn't he think it seemed fishy?) and was pretty unnecessary.
The inconsistency in the zombie chases and cuts. The worst being under the trailers. At one point it appeared to show zombies crawling in from both sides, then all of a sudden they escape through one side. The whole bit in the lot there had them cornered many times and then they miraculously escape. Also Glenn getting out of a zombie dogpile seemed unlikely too. But as I sad before, I guess the zombie parts aren't really worth getting upset about. It's often typical action movie stuff.

I don't mind the occasional silly zombie death. The show isn't about the zombies really and it's also a comic book.
The whole idea of zombies makes no sense. The laws of thermodynamics would have them fall apart within days.
Seeing a fun zombie kill once in a while is fine. Particularly during episodes with such serious tones.

Totally with you, I just have an upper boundary for ridiculousness, as I assume everyone else does. That exceeded mine. Even in a zombie show there's such a thing as stage slap.

I'm also in the "it was stupid" crowd. Seriously - a chain kills three at once?

I'm pretty sure he pulled the trigger on the gun, not really a 'head pop'.

Oh, wasn't aware he still had the gun. I actually replayed that scene a second time to see what the heck was going on there, still couldn't make it out. Thought he was choking him while pulling up on his head or something? (Hah, that was the second time I rewrote that sentence, still sounds awful)
If he did have the gun, why wait so long to shoot the zombie? Why screw around with his throat to begin with?
Still seemed like a bit of a rip off to me, but I'll admit, I'm a GoT nerd.

The reason he killed that zombie the way he did was so it didn't make a loud gun shot sound. His gun was taken away but he has another gun but didn't want everyone to know that he has another one. By shoving the gun into the zombies head and then pulling the trigger, the zombies head acts as a silencer.

Yeah, that is how I saw it too. He didn't want to have to use the gun and was basically trying to squish it into the brain, but eventually just pulled the trigger.
I thought the chain move was pretty cool though. I mean, let's face it... it's a comic book based adaptation so there are going to be things like that. Just like how after a few months of zombies, Morgan has the bow staff skills of a samurai and a housewife like Carol has better marksmanship skills than a navy seal. Daryl whipping a chain and smashing 3 heads like that pales in comparison to some of the other things if you want to over analyze it.
