Not mathematically out of it yet and they still play the Bruins again. Problem is, they play the Hurricanes, and then the Lightning and Canadiens before meeting Boston, ending the season playing New Jersey. All 5 games are at home though.
Sure, mathematically they are still in it, but it's too late to make up that ground.
I'm honestly sorry for you Cali. Hoped the Panthers would get in.
It's ok, they took huge strides this year. Not to the level of the Flames or anything, but they formed a team identity under Gallant and Mitchell as the captain. That was a major step in and of itself.
Emergence of a ton of young talent: Ekblad, Bjugstad, Pirri, Trocheck, Hayes, Petrovic, Kampfer. Much better years from Gudbranson, Kulikov, and Campbell. Huberdeau and Barkov really found their stride near the end of the year after some offensive struggles at times. Luongo looking like a top tier goalie again.
It's a team on the rise with still a lot of talent developing in the system. Kyle Rau just signed. Jayce Hawryluk looks to be a good prospect. Grimaldi, Howden, and Weegar had solid years in the AHL. They also have 2 very good defensemen in the NCAA in Ian McCoshen and Mike Matheson.
The Panthers are a team on the rise.

Hahahaha the Canucks are absolutely terrible. How do you let that happen?

It would be nice if by some miracle Boston and Washington collapsed allowing Ottawa and Florida to make the playoffs. Boston has been good for a while so they can take a turn without the playoffs while Washington missing would make the Glencross draft picks higher.

I would honestly rather see Glencross get an extended playoff run. I still have a soft spot for him.
