Maybe the NHL wants the Flames to not make the post season, not because they hate us or anything, but rather because they want to reward a hardworking and entertaining team with the greatest talent since Crosby. Calgary will miss the Post season, then win the lottery, and come back next season with a fiery thirst for the cup.
Shut up and let me rationalise our loses how I need to. If we can't make the playoffs, at least let me dream of McDavid.

Keep your heads up, everyone.
Nashville is playing us on a BTB. Dallas lost to the Oilers and may pack it in. St. Louis will be tough, but then we play EDM and AZ, and then we control our destiny against WPG and LA.
Lots of possibility still. Tonight was a tough road game against arguably the hottest team in the NHL.

I think I'm in a good place now. I really would love for them to make playoffs and they really do deserve it, but I've come to accept that if they don't it isn't the end of the world.
We have some fantastic young talent, along with some great veteran leadership. If they do miss playoffs it will be disappointing, but it won't be because of lack of heart or effort. If they do miss the playoffs teams better watch out next year because I think it will really make the guys hungry to win.
Flames will go out and leave it all on the ice like they have all year and whatever happens happens.

I am too disappointed with the fans more than the team.I use to relish reading anything on CP. The closer the seasons end the worst Cp becomes. I Know its my choice to read them. I only wanted to vent alittle. Its just disappointing all the same still. Some of you people need to get your heads out of your asses and focus on what matters on CP. Tht its all about the Flames and not with your silly quarrels.

We need to be Wild fans tomorrow, if they can pull off a win against LA, we stay in the hunt.
How crazy is it that Chicago might be a Wildcard team?

The race for 3rd in the Central might be our savior. Wild will beat the crap out of the Kings tomorrow. Then a pissed off Blackhawks team will beat the crap out of the Jets on Sunday.

Results like these makes me wonder if the Flames at least pulled out 2-3 wins during their 8 game losing streak... they would be in a much better position now.

I've gotten plenty of enjoyment out of this season. You on the other hand seem to only find solace in calling out other posters from some kind of high horse, like your opinions of the team are the only ones that matter. Find a new schtick

Please. You crapped all over the team for months, climbed on the bandwagon and are now back to forecasting doom. Did you already forget how you seemed to have no idea how you said all of those things until I reminded you? You're the one who needs a new schtick.

It's too bad because there were several of those games we really deserved the win too.

You lose the best defenseman in the league and possible Norris candidate, yeah it's a lot harder to win. After a loss like this I wonder what Gio is like next year. Is he better or will age catch up to him?
One thing this year was that he was fast, incredibly fast. His acceleration was crucial to our teams ability to send defense in to help the rush, without it our forecheck plays like it did tonight. Losing one of the best breakout passes hurts too, we probably have 4-6 more points in the standings with the captain.

Then, the Kings on Monday and the Canucks on Thursday. It's the perfect time for the Hawks to go on a nice winning streak.
