I really wish the mods would just delete posts that are either over the top hyperbolic or downright untrue. Guess everyone's entitled to an opinion but some opinions are just flat out stupid and false.

Fair point, I'm just worried he might burn out and lose us a game we deserve to win.

I trust Hartley's judgement so if he does go back to Ramo then I will have no complaints. He's been fantastic of late.

Backlund will be a perfect 3rd line centre behind Monahan and Bennett.

Games like this are bound to happen, the timing just really sucks. Can't blame one player for the loss, all of the top guys played terrible.

It's not terrible....Backlund was not nearly a difference maker, and has not been for some time. He's a "checker" and not a difference make -- hence 4th line.

He may not be a difference maker but he's quite a bit better than just a 4th liner at best.

Not surprising, the Flames just don't have the horses to keep up in this ridiculous playoff race. Sucks that the comeback kids have finally come back to Earth but at least there's a lot to look forward to for next year

Well something's gotta give.

But with how events have proceeded so far OOT, watch the result be 2-1 Kings in the shootout after going down 1-0 early and tying it in the dying seconds of the 3rd.

For this game to even be meaningful at this time of the year says a lot about this team. Devastating loss but the season isn't over yet. Believe till were mathematically out!

You wrote this team off in November and December. Do you really need to continue it now? Your feelings were made very apparent over and over.

Real grim but not impossible. But they ideally need 4 out of next 6 points, do that, and they can carry some momemtum and hammer the Oilers and Coyotes and have essentially one game sudden death games vs LA and Wpg getting at least 7 of last 8 points.

But do they have the gas. 3 of last 4 games doesn't appear to promising in that regard.
They look tired and out of gas now. Can't imagine they suddenly are revitalized on a road trip with back to back games Sunday and Monday.

They need some fresh legs on the back end and they don't have that.

If I was Hartley I would get some fresh legs in and consider giving the team the day off tomorrow. It can't hurt and they really look like they could use the rest.

The physical side is only part of it, they look mentally spent perhaps a result of all the comeback efforts so far this season.

I considered getting 6 points out of this roadie enough to keep them in the game. Minnesota was one team I wasn't too heavily invested in regarding a W.
They need The points out of NSH who they've beaten this year and DAL. Of course EDM is one too.

So for me the key game on this roadie is Dallas. If they can squeeze 2 points out of them they're still in this gig. Just do not walk into the St.Louis game with any expectations. St.Louis has handled the Flames like they were kids in both meetings so far this year.

We need help in the OOT department going forward starting with a Wild win over the Kings.

C'mon man...dude needs to prove he can stay healthy, but other than that he should be our legit #3C going forward. He's noticeably skinnier post injury, I don't think he'll be fully back to himself until next season.

Dude was probably our best forward last year, how quickly we forget..
