Flames need to step it up on this trip. Playing well isn't going to cut it. We need to be lights out just like all of the other teams in the race have been.
We have to stop hoping other teams start to play worse than us and instead hope that the Flames can play better than them.

Okay, the Bhawks have decided to get involved in this messy wild card race. The Islanders are doing the same thing in the east. Fasten your seatbelts and let the insanity continue.

It's weird to think that my Panthers might have a better chance at the playoffs than my Flames. They play Boston twice and Ottawa once in the next 2 weeks.
Unfortunately, they just lost Nick Bjugstad for the season.

perhaps a break for the Flames tomorrow:
Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
Per #Preds broadcast, captain Shea Weber is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Not playing vs. #Caps. Nashville hosts #Flames tomorrow.

maybe they'll pull a Montreal and give the Vezina/Hart candidate a rest as well.

Just like Jamie Benn...oh wait...
If I've learned one thing as a Flames fan, it's never count on the other team, the refs, or the OOT scoreboard.
Always earned, never given.

Funny, for a guy that was supposed to be banged up Jamie Benn sure flopped hard that game multiple times. I lost all respect for that guy as a player.

If we didn't have that 8 game losing streak, we would still be fighting with Anaheim for first in the pacific and maybe even the presidents trophy. With the assets we have next year, we are becoming a real good contender soon!

If we won 4 of those 8 games, we are 1 point ahead of Chicago and basically locked up 2nd in the Pacific! Crazy.

That Central division is ridiculous.
The Wild are 4th in their division.......and 8th in the LEAGUE.
That division occupies 4 of the top 8 spots in league standings right now.

Wow, just noticed this.
If Minnesota wins tonight, not only will that help us but, this puts them ahead of Chicago which means they drop down to the Wild Card Spot.

No kidding. Will likely be the 2nd year in a row where they occupy both Wild Card spots......and then the two teams over there that will miss the playoffs this season (if WIN makes it) both made the post season last year, and have young cores to build around and should be on the up swing.
