Not going well. Hopefully this rain delay messes with SA's momentum because this partnership is just making it hell for NZ.

So what happens if the rain doesn't let up? Do they resume tomorrow?

From cricinfo

Just a recap of the playing conditions. We begin losing overs only after an hour's play is lost. In case the match is not completed today, we have a reserve day tomorrow with play resuming from where it stops. If we have lost overs today, and then a further interruption pushes us into tomorrow, the match will continue to be a curtailed one. If over two days we don't get a result, New Zealand will go through by the virtue of having finished higher in the group stages I must repeat that my stating the playing conditions has nothing to do with the weather conditions right now. This shouldn't be a very long interruption. At any rate if the interruption is long enough to not allow South Africa bat any further, the target for New Zealand is likely to be 264 in 38 overs
Quote:
Just a reminder to those complaining: all efforts, which include curtailments and DLS calculations, will be made to get a game tonight. If we can't finish it off tonight, we take it into tomorrow. Makes sense. You can't say there is a reserve day so let's not curtail the game tonight. And then what if it pours all day tomorrow?
It's been an hour already.

Match centre says they will resume in about 10 minutes, cutting the overs to 43 per side. Any of you guys staying awake for this?

... looks like I'm the only one posting in here as it's almost midnight in Calgary...

Wicket! du Plessis is out after facing only 1 ball at the restart!

The game has resumed and the Kiwis have finally gotten du Plessis out after a review. The Proteas will need de Villiers to go crazy for the last 5 overs to post a challenging score.

It's only 3:50 pm here so yeah I'll be awake.

Wow, de Villiers hasn't had to do anything, it was all Miller. 281 is a really good score. It's going to be very tough for the Black Caps, hopefully they can make it close.

Edit: the D/L calcs are in and the Kiwis need 298 from their 43 overs. That is basically 7 an over which is do-able.

298 runs to win in 43 overs. Big score. Game on.

Wow, this has the be the greatest start ever. A fifty for McCullum in 22 balls and he is now at 59 on 25 balls. Averaging 14 runs in the first 5 overs is ridiculous!

He set a great platform. He was able to drop the required run rate from a difficult 7 to a manageable 6.2.

Yeah that was brutal. Wish it had been Taylor run out there instead of Guptill.

Taylor needs to push on and get a good score to make it up to Guptill.
