How much do coaches make?

Fun fact: Hartley has the worst winning % of the Flames coaches since the Gilbert/MacNeil year. The 4 coaches in between were all over .500. Brian Sutter is the only other one that's worse.

But he's the only renewal/extension aside from Badger, I think.

Whatever Hartley is making, it's not enough considering what he's done for the program to date. It's more than X's and O's. Culture isn't easy to build.

I think the main thing holding his winning percentage the last two years might have been goaltending. Joey MacDonald, Leland Irving, Reto Berra, and honestly even a banged up Kipprusoff were all brutal.

Defence wasn't as good last year as well. Didn't have the scoring either.

Don't get me wrong about that post - Hartley IMO is clearly a better coach for this team than Playfair, Keenan or Brent Sutter were for theirs. Keenan especially got a veteran laden team with Kipper in good form.

I think in Detroit they won't pay Babcock more than what Holland makes. Which I rember reading was somewhere in the 4 mil ball park.
