When the Ranch staff asked the players which of them was crazy enough to ski down the mountain in the adaptive sled, Tousignant’s teammates immediately signed him up. In what has become known as “Tousi’s Wild Ride,” he flew down the mountain with a smile on his face as he got to experience how children with disabilities are able to ski.

“I enjoy doing the community stuff,” Tousignant remarked. “I remember when I was a kid we had a junior team in my hometown and we could skate with them and do things with them, I remember it like it was yesterday. If I can give it back to the kids here, that’s one thing I enjoy doing. My family gave me the value when I was a kid to take care of the person next to you, it doesn’t matter who it is and that’s just the way I’ve been living life.”

“He’s a real good person,” Huska said. “I think first and foremost when you have good people, when you take them away from their work setting, they’re great people around the community and [Tousignant] is one of those people. He loves to help, to be around and do things and he’s just a very caring person.”

Morrison, from Lloydminster, Alta., has signed an ATO now to play for CGY's AHL team in ADK.

Morrison on 960 says he has some tests to finish up and then he will head down to Adirondack next week.

Not just an. ATO, he also signed an ELC that starts next season.

hathaway did that in one of his first games last year too and had his ass handed to him. Kid has a heart of a lion.

One of the more intriguing players among this year’s collegiate free agent crop is towering UMass senior defenseman, Oleg Yevenko. At 6’7” and 230 pounds, it’s hard to miss the Minsk, Belarus native.

Yevenko, who serves as one of the Minutemen’s assistant captains, has posted five points (all assists) in 33 games. He leads UMass with 72 blocked shots and ranks second on the team with 49 penalty minutes.

Yevenko is a physical, defensive defenseman who uses his enormous frame, strength and especially long reach quite well in taking away space and shutting down opposing players. He is one of the nation’s best shot-blockers and excels on the penalty kill. Although Yevenko doesn’t rack up many points, he does have some offensive ability. He possesses a very heavy shot and can get pucks to the net. His passing skills are also quite good. In addition to his sheer size, scouts have also taken notice of Yevenko’s physicality. He does an excellent job of finishing his checks and can deliver some bone-jarring hits.

While most collegiate players add size to improve their game, it has been the opposite for Yevenko. His combination of a lighter frame and vastly improved skating has allowed him to be a more mobile and effective rearguard, which can be seen in his stepped-up transition game. Although Yevenko lacks foot speed, he still moves well for a big man.

You'll have to excuse me. Those words in the same sentence always do weird things to me. I have a a bit of a large defenceman obsession.

Played half a season in Portland with Sven in 11/12 after leaving college.

6'3" left shooting winger, having his best pro season of his career, albeit in the ECHL.

Sure loss, sorry for the "simple" question as I don't know much about NCAA and signings, but can Yevenko still sign an ELC with another NHL while under ATO with Addy or does CGY have first dibs?

An ATO is only at the AHL level. It has no implications on an NHL contract at all, so he could sign an ELC with another team.

It would be seen in very poor taste to do so though.

My understanding is yes any club can sign him, but as a courtesy most agents give the club that has him on a tryout an opportunity to match the offer.

For example Wideman was on a tryout with the Flames in 2005, but the Blues offered him an NHL contract that the Flames were not willing to give so he left in the middle of the camp.

Thanks guys interesting a "top 10" prospect in the NCAA agreed to an ATO so quickly after the season? I would have thought someone had been watching the season to give him an ELC, again don't know much on NCAA players so maybe this was his market value.
