So is Columbus a tough game for the Flames?

According to all the Analysis having a non-playoff team at home should be an easy 2 pts.... but then Columbus on the 2nd game of back to backs after playing to a SO win the night before in Edmonton walks into Vancouver who had won 3 of their last 4 at home and spanks them.

Were the Canucks not ready for them?

One of the good things about the Flames is that Hartley has them playing everyone as though they are big underdogs.

Columbus is 6-4 on their last 10 and have won six road games in a row.

Won't be easy

Didn't see it, but sounds like CBJ had a bunch of flukey goals last night.

Calgary generally plays very well against lower teams. They don't fall into too many traps. When they have lost to such teams, it's been goalie driven (eg. losing to Toronto and Buffalo earlier this year).

Columbus is a hard working team. Hard work will beat talent if talent doesn't want to work, which is what I think happened in Vancouver. Hard working teams playing for pride can be very dangerous, so yes I think it may be a tough game.

The first two goals Lack let in were extremely smelly, and the Canucks seem to be one of the most vulnerable teams to collapse when their goaltending isn't good

Definitely a bunch of flukey goals that just collapsed the moral of the Canucks. Great example of the difference between the Flames and them, they were really affected by some bad bounces. Could have easily turned it around when it was 2-2 but they had no push left, like they had decided this just wasn't their night.

By flukey I'm not saying Lack played well, but when you get pucks coming off Canucks sticks and changing direction, bad bounces off the end boards and having to stave off a 2 on 1 with Sbisa being your 1 defenseman you can't really blame Lack for last night.

I think Columbus is as much a "trap game" as Philadelphia was last night for us. I think Steve Rucchin summed it up well in the pregame last night when he said "I've been a part of teams that have no chance of making the playoffs. These games you get up for, wanting to play the spoiler for the bubble teams. But as soon as you get down a goal or two the drive to come back is just not there, that's why it's so important right now for the Flames to get the first goal"

As long as the Flames don't gift Columbus some easy momentum or easy goals we should be safe to win on Saturday. Make it not worth their time to work hard, and we should win easily.

Hard to imagine the Jets are still in it after the Blues loss followed by the Panthers loss. These last 3 weeks should be nothing short of fantastic playoff race hockey for all teams involved.

This is why it won't take 98 points to make the playoffs like some think...somebody is gonna lose some games

also, if you think the Oilers are gonna let the Flames have an easy one think again...that will be the biggest game of the year for them

Rumour is that Toffoli gets an in-person hearing for his hit from behind yesterday, which helps everyone aside from the Kings:

I hate Burrows, but that was a terribly disgusting and dangerous hit.

Burrows did return for one shift about ten minutes later but did not finish the game. I'm guessing 3 games for a first time offender?

no additional punishment

The Mayor John Hoven @mayorNHL
Per #LAKings mgmt, Tyler Toffoli will not be suspended or have any further discipline from NHL for yesterday's hit on #Canucks Alex Burrows.
