Player: Tyler Johnson (68 ov) - 3 GP, 4 G + 1 A = 5 P, +2, 0 PIM, 1x 1st star, 2x 3rd star, 1 GWG, 1 SO-GWG
Johnson is red-hot at the moment, riding a 5 game goal streak and leading the team offensively lately. He opened the week with 2 goals vs the Sharks before adding a goal and an assist as well as the game-winning goal in the SO against the Senators. Finally he scored the game-winner in the 3rd period vs the Wild.
Goaltender: Steve Mason (80 ov) - 3-0-0, 1.62 GAA, .948% svs, 1x 2nd star
Mason was excellent during that week, winning all three contests including a battle in the skills competition. He first stopped 33 shots in a 3-1 win over the Sharks, then registered 30 saves in a 3-2 SO win over the Sens and finally stopped 28 in a 3-2 win over the Wild.
Unsung & Defenseman: Marco Scandella (63 ov) - 3 GP, 0 G + 3 A = 3 P, +1, 2 PIM, 1x 1st star
Scandella has seen increased ice time lately and he has done well to justify our trust in him. Last week, he averaged over 25 minutes a game and registered 3 assists, two of them in the vital win over Minnesota.
EDIT: haha, was so excited to finally have some worthy nominees this week and didn't see we're doing a "worst" week. Oh well will look at it later again and post my "real" nominations then.
