Outsized is correct. We have 2 smurfs that we should keep, and we should upgrade on the rest. This team needs a new Reggie also.

You guys do realize there is still 12 games left right? And that we arguably got one of the easiest schedules remaining?. We're tied with LA and 1 point behind the Jets. LA is in ANAHEIM tmrw and the Jets play ST LOUIS. Those two games very well could be loses and were right back in it. No need to fret.

At this point the Blues are simply a better team, and they played a very good road game tonight. Stiffling. My pathetic record for games in I'm in attendance this year continues. I'm 2-7. Ugh.

If we have any hopes of making the playoffs you better stay home and not attend any more games

Just got back. My take and most may not agree but the first 30 minutes Hartley coached scared and coached to get a break, from what I saw top 2 lines barely played until we got behind.

Call me crazy but the Monahan line has been one of the leagues best for 2 or 3 weeks. play them and play them alot IMO.

Agree in principle, but Hartley is well aware of how fast it can go sideways against a team that good (witness first bit of the third), and that might be his reasoning for being cautious.

Still, you gotta go with what you've got.

God damn that's a tough team. I thought they were gonna win the cup last year and without their late string of key injuries I think they could've done it. They're my pick again this year.

Just completely stifled the Calgary offense; wouldn't allow any flow through the neutral zone and then won all the puck battles when we turned the puck over. I think they'd be our worst matchup in the whole league.

Are you serious? To lose to St. Louis is expected. If we had won it would have defied the odds. St. Louis is way better than us on paper and in the standings while spending 11 million more. St. Louis is in the top 3 for the Cup champ contenders.

Pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if Hartley was purposely spreading out the icetime for everyone because he knows how tough of a game it would be and figures not to ride the first line into the ground against them. Saving his guns for the next couple of more "winnable" games?

Tough loss to a far superior team, combined with the worst possible outcome on the OOT. Just a horrible night all around. Still plenty of hockey left to be played, but I'm guessing the Flames will need to win the remaining 4 games on this home stand to stay in the race, especially since every other team around them keeps winning. So damn frustrating.

I agree with everything, especially the bold, but, just for curiosity, who are your other two contenders? With LA iffy to be in the dance and Chicago without Kane, it looks like an open year...

I've got Stl, NYR and Ana, in that order.

I can't believe some of you are throwing in the towel when we are tied for a spot and 1-3 points back of multiple teams

Flames last two games have been super tough (travel/opponent) they need to bounce back though but dont give up!

Coming in to this seven-game set tonight our record was 4-1-1. Now it's 4-2-1.

Got beat by a great team.

We didn't do ourselves any favours.

Onto the last set of the season. (and one more five-game set to finish)

They're fun to watch agailnst bad teams but it's not surprising when better teams completely neutralize them. I'd like to see Gaudreau switched with someone, maybe Colborne. It's something the Blackhawks do with Patrick Kane too, before you attack me on it. You just can't get away with two small wingers and one of the least physical centers in the league.

- I can't wait for Sam Bennett and Emile Poirier and Drew Shore.

- I don't like Mason Raymond going forward.

- I wish Hartley would pair up Brodie and Diaz. I don't like the Brodie / Engelland pairing one bit because they're always pinned in their end and it's lame.

- The Blues played a great game. Give them credit they obviously want to win a championship. Hope they get upset though, screw 'em.
Agree and disagree. I think our top line gets shut down because its easy to do to a one line team. I do agree about Raymond. I wasn't as quick to blow the whistle on him as others were. He hasn't produced and unfortunatly thats what matters. Sam is going to add another dimension to the team we sorely need. We really need to add another good defender. Missed Gio alot tonight.
