Just watching the game again on Centre Ice. The things that stick out to me is obviously the Flames first line having a scoring chance each time they touched the puck. But the second thing that stuck out is I have no idea who plays for the Leafs...Joakim Lindstrom, MacWilliam, TJ Brennan, Trevor Smith, Zach Sill. Like who are these guys?

Golly, I thought we were still trying to replace Cammalleri's scoring!

I will admit that I really enjoy Horachek's interviews. He's pulling no punches in calling his team out.

It's awesome.

He's got a pretty sweet gig right now. The season was done when Carlyle was fired, the ravenous media has turned on all the players, digging up whatever dirt they can.

Everyone, including himself, knows he won't be the head coach next year (Babcock or Todd McLellan), and he's auditioning, on a large stage, to be a top assistant somewhere else in hockey, with a lot less accountability to worry about right now.

He can do and say whatever he wants and be has honest and open because he's got the media, and Shanahan, on his side.

Can anyone explain to me why Reimer never got pulled?

Poor guy I almost started to feel bad for him.

Is it cause they were committed to saving all of Bernier's energy for tonights game?

By the time they could have pulled him the damage was done. They were dead and buried and had played like referee-assisted dogcrap all game so they literally rolled over and died.

And thats what separates teams like Toronto from teams like Calgary. Down by 3 with a period to go? No problem. Toronto? They gave up because their fearless leader wanted to hurry back to the lockerroom to turn up the music on the radio.

Only one fewer ROW than Anaheim. That's bananas.

I saw some reasoning in keeping Reimer in there though. Their loss was sealed very early in the game (the 2 shorties killed every last bit of hope for them) and they also play in Vancouver today. They were losing anyway, so using both goalies on the first night of a back-to-back would have made little sense. It's not like they are a desperate team right now in a playoff chase, they rather roll over, take a beating and wait for the season to end. Pulling Reimer (who had zero support all night and wasn't really at fault for any goal) wouldn't have changed anything for them.

Very true, but even on back to backs with travel Hartley has pulled the goalie and managed to win, so I dont figure thats a good enough excuse.

At the end of the day they rolled over and died and, as is evidenced 3 hours north, that mentality is tough to shake.
