Default Random Stats and Milestones

It's been such an incredible season to watch. I'm just going to dump a bunch of crazy cool and mildly interesting stats here.

Jiri Hudler has quickly cracked the top 50 and is currently 45th in Calgary Flames all time point scoring with 141 points in 182 games. He's one point behind Steve Bozek.

Hudler has already set a career high in points with 60, assists with 35, and has tied his career high in goals with 25.

Johnny Gaudreau has 19G 34A and 53 points. That's 8th in Flames history for rookie point scoring. He's got a chance to crack the top 5 at his current pace!

1.Joe Nieuwendyk.75GP 51G 41A 92P
2.Carey Wilson.....74GP 24G 48A 72P
3.Gary Suter.........80GP 18G 50A 68P
4.Theoren Fleury...80GP 31G 35A 66P *
5.Joel Otto...........79GP 25G 34A 59P
6.Hakan Loob.......77GP 30G 25A 55P
7.Jiri Hrdina.........70GP 22G 32A 54P
9..Dan Quinn........54GP 19G 33A 52P
10.Jarome Iginla...82GP 21G 29A 50P

Sean Monahan has 49 goals as a Flame. Good for 50th all time in Flames Silks. Mikael Backlund scored his 50th as a Flame tonight. That puts him in 48th. Jiri Hudler has 52 (46th) and Giordano has 66 (36th)

TJ Brodie has already set career highs in Assists with 28, Goals with 10, and points with 38.

TJ ties Jay Bouwmeester tonight (03/13/2015) for 13th in all-time scoring for Flames defensemen. Jay and TJ both have 18 goals and 79 assists for 97 ponts. However, TJ did it in 253 games as a +14 whereas Jay Bouwmeester took 279 games and was a -38.

I have so many more but I've got to stop for tonight. Will update in the morning.

I didn't realize Otto had such a rookie season! Johnny should pass him though
Sergei Makarov had 86 points in his first nhl season. He was a bit older but was technically a rookie.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that Kent Nilsson had 93 (or close) as a rookie for the Flames? Oh I guess that was Atlanta, so maybe we don't care.

Ottos highest scoring NHL season was his rookie season. But he was also already 24.

Signed as a college FA, a Full AHL season under his belt & 17 NHL games before his rookie year.

I was also surprised looking at Ottos rookie numbers but he was already in the prime of his career.

Since I'm on Hockeydb looking up Otto's age right now.

Nilsson had 2 WHA seasons with Winnipeg first.

107 points in his WHA rookie year.

Jiri Hudler has more 5 on 5 points this year than the following players

Tavares
Crosby
Malkin
Ovechkin
Backstrom

That is some pretty good company and most of the NHL leaders in points

We are tied for 5th in the league for goals for. The last 2 games really let us make a jump up that ranking. 203 goals for, tied with Anaheim, but we have 2 games in hand on that.

We all could have made a lot of money betting that the Flames would be in the top 5 for goals for this year.

A good one I heard last night.

Flames have points in 6 straight for the first time since 2012.

Mason Raymond will play his 500th game tonight.

Kris Russell will play his 500th game Tuesday vs. St. Louis.

Dennis Wideman will play his 600th NHL game March 25th vs. Dallas. His previous career high in points is 50, he now has 45.

Jiri Hudler will play his 600th game March 30th vs. Dallas.
(He has already broken his previous career high of 57 points.)

TJ Brodie is 3 points away from 100 career points.

Joe Colborne is 3 points away from his last seasons total, in 30 games less played.

Treliving was worried where the scoring would come from!

There are 23 defensemen with at least 10 goals.

The Flames have 3 of them.

I was looking up random stats last night and was a little surprised but happy to see two of our kids near the league lead in takeaways.

Manahan 8th in the NHL (60)
Gaudreau 9th in the NHL (57)

While Gaudreau also is 13th in the NHL in giveaways (67), I think he'll be able to cleanup that part of his game.

Can't wait to see what these guys are going when they're 25!

People should be ashamed if Johnny gets a penalty against them. I still want to see him drop his mitts!

Bob Hartley currently has 421 coaching wins.

That's good for 30th all time.

He made his way into the top 30 this season when he passed none other than Jack Adams, who finished with 413 wins.
