Give up 2 short handed goals on the same powerplay

Speaking of that game, Sean Monahan has 27 goals this season. I love Horvat, but damn.

I don't see how [the Leafs] will turn this thing around for another few years. The Oilers part two.

I hate seeing Calgary win any more but it is kind of funny that Calgary is beating them using the game plan they ran with under Carlyle (and were in a PO spot with). I'm just assuming that Calgary is being outshot because they are always being outshot. But then so is TO. How can this be?

I don't think I've ever seen a professional sports team more dysfunctional than the Maple Leafs.
edit: right as I was typing that, they gave up their 2nd SH goal on the same PP. Just wow.

So I think Calgary scored 5 goals on 6 shots...wonder what the record is for that type of thing

If a team really wants to make the playoffs and are in a tight race these are the games you have to have. The objective was to win the game without suffering any major injuries so mission accomplished on all fronts. You know the officials have had a bad night when their incompetence overshadows the Leafs. Unbeknownst to me the rulebook states that body contact with Phaneuf warrants a two minute minor. How else do you explain two of those penalties tonight on clean hits that got penalized? I have never seen a first period like that in my life where a team played as poor as the Leafs, were totally and completely dominated yet were on the powerplay for well over 1/3 of the period.
Future is looking bright with Gadreau and Monahan starting to look like stars and it's easy to forget that the best could be yet to come in Bennett. Good times for Flames fans indeed.
