Ah 2004, what a great year! Despite being only 10 years old, I remember everything. I remember going to game 3 against the Canucks. My ears rang all night. It was insane. I still to this day have not heard the dome that loud, and I went to game 3 of the Finals that year and the Canada-Russia WJC game when they almost tied it up.

At school we were all encouraged to wear our Flames jersey's/tshirts/etc, and of course one kid decided to wear his Canucks jersey. That kid promptly had the daylights knocked out of him and the school made a rule that we were not allowed to wear Flames gear (a rule that I disobeyed and that was removed after the first round).

I remember my dad driving me to school and letting me stay in the car in the morning to listen to "In Da Dome", despite being late for school. I hadn't heard it before but everyone was talking about it.

I remember being told to go to bed before games had ended, but I had hid an old TV (with bunny ears) in my closet and would sneak in there at night to watch, then staying up until 2am listening to the post-game show on the radio.

I remember my dad getting me out of "bed" for the last 2 minutes of game 6 against the Sharks. We went outside after the game and all that could be heard was car horns honking and people yelling and celebrating.

And I remember crying on my couch when the Flames lost in game 7 of the finals. So sad, but so many good memories. I don't remember a whole lot from when I was that young, but I remember just about everything from that run.

This is exciting; starting to see a lot of Calgary Flames flags in cars around the city. Just found mine the other day and haven't used it since 04.

I don't even know if I still have mine. I moved a couple times and sometimes things just get lost.

I'll have to check the ol garage and see if I can dig them up.

Given that I live in So Cal though it would piss off a lot of Ducks & Kings fans

I met my current girlfriend in fall of 2009. She still hasn't seen what I get like during playoffs and it's been 5 years... with the way I've reacted to some of the goals the past few weeks she's starting to get worried about her sanity come playoffs...

I found this video years ago of the Red Mile. They ask some stupid questions but my favorite is the guy in the giant foam cowboy hat at 2:28 with the big flag.

I'm happy to report that I watched last nights game at Hudsons and the entire bar was cheering loudly during the game. Everyone seemed into it.

What did a decent pair of 100 level seats sell for during the 2004 finals? I wasn't in the city then but curious what prices were at that time. I'm assuming scalpers prices of course since all season ticket holders would have used their seats

As I was lucky enough to have tickets all the way through 2004, I never had to try the scalper's market.

However, what I did notice in that first round against Vancouver was that there were a lot less Canuck fans getting into the Saddledome than in the regular season. I really hope this happens again this spring should we face Vancouver again in the first round.

It's going to be weird to not be able to freely pick up tickets to Flames games again.

I can't remember the last time I really wanted to go to a game but couldn't find tickets for face value.

I'm really excited at the prospect of us meeting the Canucks in the first round.

Every time Calgary and Vancouver meet in the playoffs, it goes to 7 games and every time, the winner goes to the finals. Here's to hoping we beat Vancouver if that's how it shapes up.

Row 1 on the blue line for Game 6 vs San Jose went for $2k.

My wife has never been around me for playoffs. I'm trying to ease her into the idea of me coming home drunk every other night, which so far isn't an easy sell.

Back in 2004 CP was an AWESOME resource for tickets. A group of us were constantly checking ticketmaster on gameday for tickets the Flames released (happened every game) and once someone saw it a thread was posted. Even though I had 4 seats through playoffs, I scored all kinds of tix for my pals.

Yeah CP would be great for that. $2k for row 1 actually doesn't seem that bad. But of course that was then....now that would be probably be closer to $3k.

Found my old car flag, with two big holes in it. Ragged Glory.

Got a new flag at Fan Attic for $15. Told them to order lots more.

This thread has me amped. WHEN the Flames make the playoffs this spring, if the atmosphere in this city is even half what it was in 2004 we are in for one hell of a ride. My car flag is going up tonight and I may have to pick up 3 more - one for each window!!
