Worst (Best?) Act of Tanking of 2014-15?
There were quite a few...
- Leafs healthy scratching Kadri
- Sabres roster coming into the season
- Oilers being No Good
- Coyotes sending Dubnyk to Wild
- Sabres acquire Evander Kane who is done for the season
- Sabres' moves around the deadline

I wanna say Sabres, but the fact remains Oil have the least wins. I'm undecided if Oil mgmt is smart enough engineer a tank, or they are dumb enough to think they are actually competitive, but just suck.
Toss up I have to say.

Sabres goalie trades, taken together, win this in a walk. Nothing else has been as blatant.
I don't think the Oilers belong on the list. They weren't trying to tank. That's what's so sad.

Sabres deadline moves were like handing a cement block to a swimmer.

The Sabres tank job has been shameless. The only thing I can like about it is the fact they will hopefully keep McDavid from the steaming pile of hilarity that is Edmonton.
The only reason I choose the Sabres over any other teams is because I feel like the Sabres actively made their team worse as the season wore on while Edmonton, Toronto and Arizona were all just doomed from the start.

Why can't I pick all three Sabres options. Screw that franchise.

Sabres was pretty obvious but after the years of Edmonton doing this I have no problem with Buffalo trying to one up them.

Sabres' deadline. They traded Enroth and Neuvirth for Lindback and Johnson. You can't make it any more obvious than that.

Oil management isn't smart enough to engineer a toy train set, let alone a tank job.

Anyone one of the Sabres options could have been chosen.

The Oilers unintentional tank job continues to astound everyone around the league. But lets give some credit where it's due. The trading of David Perron and Jeff Petry, and bringing in a post-apex David Roy, are all astute tanking moves.

As others said, the Sabres' goaltending antics. They started Enroth (.903) over Neuvirth (.918) before eventually trading both, replacing them with Lindback (.875) and Johnson (.889).

has to be the oilers. Every year they're in the same situation, they don't do things to change it, they just hope things will improve on their own. They suck and do nothing to actually improve and then all they do is make their top 3 pick part of their first line and then act surprised when it doesn't work. The sabres haven't been bad for nearly as long and they're going to be better before the oilers are. The leafs are finally doing things right and the yotes are at least trying.
The oilers are just embarrassing. I don't feel sorry for them, I feel sorry for the league for having to deal with them and the rest of the league for having to put up with them.

Sabres. The Leafs are jealous. The Oilers are just content to sleep in the bed they keep soiling.

Dang, those are hard choices. I think San Jose should be in that mix as well.

The Coyotes trading Dubnyk for a 3rd round pick. He was the only reason they were winning any games is imo the biggest tank move this year.

Only 1 team can even be considered 'Tanking' and it's the Leafs.
Buffalo has no talent. They had no chance to get better other then the moves at the beginning of the season they tried (Sign whatever FA will come and trade for Georges)
They would be stupid not to get any pick at the deadline they could. That isn't tanking. That's smart asset management.
