That's a huge commitment by BLM -- happy to know he'll be staying with Calgary long term.

Poor Drew Tate,
didnt he sign an extension knowing that BLM is leaving for the NFL after the next season?

No, there were no guarantees given.
Right now in terms of musical chairs for starting QB's there weren't a lot of options out there for Tate. And the ones that were there were with teams with horrible offensive lines, which has to be scary for a guy that's a bit injury prone.
With Tate his business sense won out.
Plus remember that in terms of pay, if the Stamps win a Grey Cup again, a guy like Tate can add another $24000 onto his pay check.

Decent special teamer and can be used for ratio purposes in certain defensive looks, but if Shomari Williams is being depended on to be a full time starter there will be problems (I seriously doubt that is what Calgary wants out of him anyway).

Based on the article Id say Special Teams will be where we see him the most with spot duty on D.
“Shomari has been a very good special-teams player during his career and his versatility on defence will also be a valuable asset for us,” said Hufnagel.

Jabari is probably my least favorite of the returning receivers on the roster. Just dont see the potential with him anymore. However, so long as he plays good special teams and is a good guy in the room (I speculate that he is), no harm in bringing him back.

I feel the same way about Arthur. He is so inconsistent and I didn't think he is using all his potentials. The guy can dominate with his speed and his height if he wants. I hope he plays consistently this coming season.

Stamps sign veteran DB Burnett.
http://www.stampeders.com/article/st...ran-db-burnett
Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of international defensive back Joe Burnett. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Burnett spent the past three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos, registering 122 tackles, three special-teams tackles, eight interceptions, 11 pass knockdowns and one fumble return for a touchdown in 39 games. He led the CFL in 2012 with six interceptions including two picks returned for touchdowns and was named a West Division and CFL all-star.

Surprised that the Eskimos didn't re-sign him. Burnett is a good player he just makes a lot of dumb decisions though. He is a ball-hawk and can return punts or kickoffs which would be a plus. I bet you, he'll play much better under Hufnagel this season.
I heard DT Micah Johnson re-signed with the Stampeders too. So now our interior are going to be Eric Taylor, Johnson, Turner and Corey Mace.

Yup, Micah re-signed as well.
As for Burnett, no issue with taking an ex-Eskimo that wants to stick it to Chris Jones...

Romby Bryant retires as Stamp
http://www.stampeders.com/article/ro...tires-as-stamp
Calgary head coach and general manager John Hufnagel announces that international receiver Romby Bryant has signed a one-day contract with the club, which allows Bryant to retire as a member of the Stampeders.
“I would like to thank Huff and the Stamps for giving me the opportunity to retire as a Stampeder,” said Bryant. “I enjoyed my time there and loved playing for the Stamps and their fans. What I enjoyed more than anything was playing for a professional organization. My experience with the Stamps will always bring positive memories. I can honestly say they handled every situation in a professional manner. I have so much respect for the Stampeders — I had an opportunity to meet many great people and make genuine friends.

It is great to hear those kinds of comments from Romby Bryant - Such a turnaround from the F-Troop days.

Things arent going well for former Stamp, Lawrence Phillips, he has been accused of murdering his cell mate.... probably not a surprise when you think about it...
