Does anyone know what is going in place of the old Office Depot along 4th Ave? I've noticed that they started tearing down the exterior walls this week. It was supposed to become a Cowboys club at one point but the folks in Eau Claire killed that idea.

The building needs some substantial work, and I can confirm that they have some substantial ideas to really address these deficencies. However, we'll see if they're really willing to go the distance on this one and carry through on the scale of these upgrades, especially in this kind of a leasing market.

Also hearing word of a new tallest residential tower for Beltline, located "across" from the Vetro tower on 15th avenue and 1st street SE. Now which direction "across" we do not know. But there is still the parking lot directly west of Vetro by the pedestrian overpass to the Stampede.
It would be 50+ storeys.

It will be interesting to see what Aspen does. It fits their business model: buy undervalued assets, do some minor renovations, jack up rents on renewals and new tenants. That’s what they did at 444 – 5th and is what they are currently doing at 333 – 11th ave. This will be on a much large scale.

I've heard rumours of a 50+ storey rental tower. Don't know how reliable that is. That would not fit with a public use the general public would get that excited about though...

Looks like the Oilers' least favorite restaurant is at it again... this time allegedly issuing threats to people that oppose his condo tower.
