I didn't like the third episode as I just couldn't get through it but both eps since have been great and now I'm really enjoying the show.
The Saul vs Hamlin stuff is enjoyable. Mckean plays his character really well. I like the female lawyer as well, she definitely isn't a typical female support role (and I'm assuming eventual love interest) and doesn't grate on you at all...verrry unlike Vince's last one... Also loled at the patent and "vatican" clients.
Now we're getting to the roots of Mike and Saul's affiliation, and some flashes of Mike's Breaking Bad side. The show itself is enjoyable in its own way but having the Breaking Bad nostalgia thrown in there from time to time is a real treat too.

What's the deal with the parking lot attendant. Was he in BB? There's obviously some story with him.

He was a major character in BB. Essentially Gus Fring's lieutenant, if you will.

Another good episode last night. There was finally more concrete explanations about his brother, and the wing nuts Saul attracted with his billboard stunt were hilarious. Plus we finally got more Mike!

Great show so far.
When watching the episode last night there was a scene near the end, where Mike gets off work, and goes for breakfast at a diner.
I said to my wife that I think the same diner was used in BB. I'm thinking of the scene where Hank tries to get Skyler to confess to everything on a tape recorder and she doesn't.
Can any BB fans confirm?

I'm guessing that Mike violated some sort of restraining order out of Philadelphia (maybe), and that may have been his daughter.
Looks like he may need some 'elder law' after all.

It's brilliant. The plot twist was an actually good plot twist. Perfect set up and execution. I was thinking the doctor was an idiot.

Yeah, the dude that wanted to secede was some of the best so far, especially when he pulled out the 500 grand.

Sorry if this has been discussed, but I wonder if a Gus Fring spin off has ever been seriously considered? A web search is showing a bunch of fan talk/speculation on this, but never really anything concrete from BB creators. I'm sure I am late to the game on this discussion, but this is much more intriguing to me than a Saul spin off. I wouldn't be surprised if Fring shows up on Better Call Saul at some point. It is clear from BB that Goodman and Fring had some dealings in the past.
I am enjoying Better Call Saul, but can understand people saying it is thin on material. There is no way a Gus Fring show would ever be light on material imo and could take a number of different paths- no way they would need a slow start. I could see the show starting immediately after that first meeting with the Mexican cartel and possibly going to flashbacks from there. Not to mention he was one of the most interesting and ''liked'' characters on BB.

Amazing show already. I feel this is going to be as classic as Breaking Bad. I'm already sucked in, and it was awesome to get some insight into Mikes back story.

Five-O really stepped up the production quality. Intense story too, the way the story was told really has a lasting impression. The show could have started on this episode, hopefully there's a few seasons.

Mike treated Jessie like a Son in Breaking Bad. Now I know why. It is because he lost his son. He turned his son from a good cop into a dirty cop. In Breaking Bad he did the opposite. Turned Jessie into a good guy.
Thanks Mike.
